My wallet is from BELEAF (leaf leather) and I have had it for a year. Its quite good and practical.

An interesting use of old tarps, which is good to see. My wife and I have both had the same cork wallets for at least five years and they are still in very good condition. We would continue to source them in the future.

It reminds me of a similar brand called grün bag that makes bags from upcycled tarp. I own one of their backpacks and truly love the quality. I think that wallet will also last a long time 😄

Couldn't agree more. Nowadays there's a lot of options, sometimes it's a lil bit complicated, but sustainable is one of important factor to consider. Thanks for spreading awareness, Ryoya. Btw, i still have my old wallet for about 16 years, already worn out, but i'm too lazy to replace it, lol.

お財布は素材と自分なりの使い勝手の良さがあるから難しいですよね
長く使えるってだけで買って後悔するのもやだし
グッチのお財布で、レザーでなくてGG supreme という素材があります。GG SUPREME は手触りはPVC に近いけど、Biodegradableで、グッチのスーツケースにも使用されている素材で耐久性あるから長持ちしますよ。

I think it's a good idea of making a wallets/bags from that type of fabric. It's very durable unless you set it on fire or cut it, but I don't think I would set on fire my wallet 😅 I'm going to buy one of them and give it a try, those fake leather damage itself even when carrying in purse. Thanks for recommendation :)

Hi, nice videos, especially DIY. Have idea for wall shelfs: insert wooden round stick in holes in concrete wall as holders, and then place wooden board on top of it. I think it would look nice. ✌🏻

Nice. I lived near Freitag store when I lived in Seoul. Always loved looking at it, but their prices are so marked up in Korea on something that’s already expensive, I never took the plunge. Kinda forgot about it until now, so I’m gonna take another look.

Did I understand that correctly, that cork wallet company wanted you to send back your old wallet for a 20% discount!? Wth were they thinking! For me that’s terrible for business. They should have just given you the darn coupon or gave you the wallet (since you prob would have promoted them on your channel, even though that’s not the point). It sort of sux that the plant leather isn’t the greatest option either, plus it’s still very expensive.
I do have a pair of vegan leather boots and they’ve last me a long time. Not sure the material though, but I bought them from Will’s shoes. They at least try to limit the carbon footprint as best as they could I think. Best
P.S.. not sure how animal leather is processed now, but my great grandfather worked at a leather factory back in the day and he got cancer eventually and died from that. The chemicals for leather isn’t great either. Even though it seems animal leather still last the longest.

Problem is their products are really expensive. A small bag is twice the price of a equivalent product from a similar brand. It's really insane and pretty much built on hype in my opinion

For people not 100% vegan leather isn't a bad option. It's a waste product and would be thrown away if we didn't use it. Plus it's biodegradable and fairly hardy. It's funny vegan materials aren't as eco-friendly as vegan food.
