As a new mom who had to leave her baby in the hospital for her first 2 months of life bc she was so little, premature, and underdeveloped at birth, I always hope that my daughter was too young to need for me because the thought of her crying for me is horrible 😞 I wasn't allowed to do skin to skin until her last week there and she was just so gentle and tiny. When she finally reached 4lbs, she got to come home and she's been a little blessing. I couldn't imagine having to send her back to the hospital, not knowing if she was aware of anything around her and scared. Ok, now I'm gonna go snuggle my little bear until she can't snuggle anymore ❤
I'm not a father, but that was painful (and beautiful because it's a good outcome) to watch. I think any sane adult would feel the same, but I understand how real and personal it is to actual parents.

Well being in a coma you are aware of some things. In a sense the kid didn't know how much time had passed, but was away from momma for a long time to him. No wonder he broke down seeing her.

Littlle boy saying mamma with his voice shaking, it really hits me hard. I can't handle the pain in his voice; it's like my heart is breaking into a million pieces. I can't help but cry every time. It feels like something deep inside me is being hurt, and it's just too much to bear.
I looked it up and he's okay. He was put into a coma because he got pneumonia from a cold. His skin has a rare skin disorder that he's had since birth.

I can agree. It's believed I had a stroke and was out from Wednesday morning to Saturday, with a brief few minutes on Friday of somewhat consciousness. My mom who rushed me to the hospital and who was not legally kicked out WOULD NOT leave the parking lot until Friday after partner then sister attempted to bring her home. I feel awful thinking about that, I can't imagine what she felt like not being able to be there and illegally kicked out.
@@panic_to_not_try5884there’s got to be more to the story here in regards to “illegally” kicked out! I’m a nurse, and all of the hospitals that I’ve worked in have had visitor policies. This includes hospitals having the right to restrict the number of visitor, set visiting hours, and deny visitors altogether (although, the last one is usually for specific circumstances, usually surrounding safety). These rules and policies are often even more strict in areas like the ICU (which is where I’d have to guess that you spent a large portion of your stay). I hope for everyone’s sake that it was a miscommunication (or lack of communication) and not a violation of their policies, or, more importantly, your rights as a patient. If nothing else, I at least hope you’re doing well now after living through such a traumatic ordeal ❤️

I think of his mother's relief .....she actually was awake these 16 days waiting, worrying, and living a nightmare not knowing if her son will ever wake up! He was asleep most of it
He looks so weak and tired and him barley being able to reach out to his mama and call for her just fucking breaks me, literally in the hospital right now for an appointment trying not to cry ❤️
The first thing I noticed was how thin he was. I can relate. After being unconscious for only three and a half days, hospitalized for a total of six, I had lost 18 lbs. But believe me, momma was more concerned with him regaining consciousness. She'll feed him later.
I am a mom, and I feel the same way you do! There really aren't any words that can describe the feeling adequately. My heart and love goes out to them both and I wish them the best of everything!

Me too but I was saddened to learn he has a condition referred to as butterfly skin. It’s a life long illness that condemns him to constant pain. We’ve come far enough to keep him alive but we still have much to learn to stop all the suffering. We need to keep investing in education and research.

Update for those who don't know yet: This is a brazilian boy. He got pneumonia and thus he was at the hospital for so long. Thankfully tho he has already recovered and left from the hospital, he even got a shirt from a soccer player. Edit: He actually got a skin disease and the pneumonia just worsened his condition or so, but about the recovery is all true and you can search for "menino gui hospital" and you'll see (most likely all results will be in portuguese but anyways)
I like how the kid was either gaming or watching a movie on his phone. So glad he is keeping himself entertained even with the pain he is going through.

I feel bad because for one of them I had no idea he was having problems. Wish I was a better friend and just talked to him. One day he was a popular, sporty smart and funny guy and the next he jumped in front of a train on the way to school. The others I knew they had problems but for Jake it was a total surprise. Look after the men in your life people we need it.

My son spent 7 days in hospital when he was just 6 weeks old and everyday it hurt and broke my heart to watch my tiny little boy go through so much pain from being stabbed a thousand times just so they could find another vein after the previous ones popped... Eventually the nurses stopped me from being there while they reconnected his drip line because it was too traumatic for me and baby could sense my stress and anxiety for him... It was the most difficult time in my life... I would never wish this situation upon anyone with a kid to have to watch your baby be either in a coma or any hospital situation... It's hard for both the kid and the parent... Any parent would want their baby to be healthy and happy and strong... May God protect us and our children always! ❤
After having brain surgery for 7 hours at the age of 8 I woke up and the first thing I asked the doctor, “Where is my Mommy?” My mom came running in to give me a giant hug in tears. The love she has for me I can not begin to express how much it means to me
What a wonderful experience to have a loving mom. My mom heard I was severely sick and never reached out to me even though I took care of her to good health from cancer. It's a lovely relationship you have.

@@soul8539FYI, there are a lot of kids whose mothers can't be with them in the hospital, because they will lose their child's health insurance if Mom doesn't continue to work. It is a terrible position for any parent to be in.

The first thing I noticed was how thin he was. I can relate. After being unconscious for only three and a half days, hospitalized for a total of six, I had lost 18 lbs. But believe me, momma was more concerned with him regaining consciousness. She'll feed him later.

Me too but I was saddened to learn he has a condition referred to as butterfly skin. It’s a life long illness that condemns him to constant pain.
We’ve come far enough to keep him alive but we still have much to learn to stop all the suffering.
We need to keep investing in education and research.

Update for those who don't know yet: This is a brazilian boy. He got pneumonia and thus he was at the hospital for so long. Thankfully tho he has already recovered and left from the hospital, he even got a shirt from a soccer player.
Edit: He actually got a skin disease and the pneumonia just worsened his condition or so, but about the recovery is all true and you can search for "menino gui hospital" and you'll see (most likely all results will be in portuguese but anyways)

I feel bad because for one of them I had no idea he was having problems. Wish I was a better friend and just talked to him. I was little one in the hospital a long time ago😅
My son spent 7 days in hospital when he was just 6 weeks old and everyday it hurt and broke my heart to watch my tiny little boy go through so much pain from being stabbed a thousand times just so they could find another vein after the previous ones popped... Eventually the nurses stopped me from being there while they reconnected his drip line because it was too traumatic for me and baby could sense my stress and anxiety for him... It was the most difficult time in my life... I would never wish this situation upon anyone with a kid to have to watch your baby be either in a coma or any hospital situation... It's hard for both the kid and the parent... Any parent would want their baby to be healthy and happy and strong... May God protect us and our children always! ❤
