This is interesting. I am a fan of individual combat sports, but I have only recently learned about Sanda. It seems similar to MMA but without the ground game.
@Michael Terrell II I've trained Sanda for 4 years now and I can say for a fact that Sanda is the most practical Chinese related combat sport/martial art. Sanda fighters have been known to defeat Thai fighters with Muay Thai rules. Most of the traditional martial art schools around the world don't spar enough for safety and lawsuit reasons. I also trained in Choy Lay Fut and a brown belt in BJJ. I'd like to think I'm pretty well-rounded.
It is funny that there are so many participants from countries around the world but Sanda seems virtually unknown in the US. I love American sports, but it would be nice to have more exposure to what is going on in the world around us.
There's already MMA in US, why would they bother to take Sanda? Besides, sanda fought in kickboxing matches along Muay Thai, Savate, Vale Tudo, Karate, TKD, etc. There's not much difference. Also these Chinese guys in this video don't know how to apply their kungfu in full contact fight. In competition against hardcore Thailand champions, they lost mostly. The biggest shame now is numbers of Chinese sanda classes hired Thais to train them Muay Thai, such disgrace to Chinese kungfu.
@@高宇中 state which country are you from first before we start debate. If you're in US, those wanted kickboxing, they'll go for Muay Thai whereas those wanted more can go for MMA. Sanda failed to fight Muay Thai & MMA therefore it's less popular. In China, MMA & Muay Thai are beating up kungfu masters where some with sanda background to steal business
@@jawarakf The U.S. And there are plenty of matches where Sanda fighters beat Muay Thai fighters. Hell, even Saenchai lost to a Sanda fighter by the name of Wang Weihao.
they decided to threw away those qigong whose claimed can make someone stronger than any human being . walking in the water , running faster , hit harder even a stone can be crushed , invincible to any weapon . i really appreciated this . this is a good decision

Sanda fighters have been known to defeat Thai fighters with Muay Thai rules. Most of the traditional martial art schools around the world don't spar enough for safety and lawsuit reasons. Also, most TMA schools are just for show and money-grabbing. Sanda is the most legit and practical Chinese based combat style. I also trained in Choy Lay Fut and a brown belt in BJJ. I'd like to think I'm pretty well-rounded.
qigong is just breathing technics... nothing to do with supernatural things.. it's just some fake kungfu masters who sell it as supernatural things.. i used to learn my family traditional martial arts before sanda. and there're no super human things like in kungfu movie(because it's a fantasy for entertainment purpose). the term of kungfu it self is not martial art.. kungfu means skills that you earn throught hard work.. so it's not just martial art's skill, your cooking skills is kungfu too. in chinese, martial art called wushu...
most of these athletes were in the last sanda world championship they're really good
this coach Is awesome

US is a tough market to crackdown since there is pretty much everything already there.
