They are all good but The one honoring your mom is a special one.. I just lost my mom Oct.27th. She was 89 and in her life had 2 heart attacks, stroke, covid, slow progression of Ahlzheimers. Hey lady, I am in love with these crafts!! They all turned out amazing and beautiful! Especially the one for your mom! You have a gift for what you do and it really makes people happy! Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving! 🦃
These are so adorable! Love the rocking chair for your Mom! It's been 2 years since I lost mine and she loved to rock so I may try to make one! Thanks for sharing! 🍬🍭🎁🌲
Christmas 🎄 has arrived, I am loving all your Christmas diys.. so very creative, I love the chair, so sweet, definitely gonna borrow that one, my mom's been gone 10 years now, seems like yesterday,
Hi Courtney, 🦃🥧🍂🍁 My favorite of these crafts is the gingerbread man. I have a 1 ft tall one my grandmother made for me when I was 5 and I am now 58. He sits in a rocker year round in my bedroom. His white rickrack is still in tack half his red rickrack mouth, eyes are gone, seams are split but I love my Gingy as I have called him fir 50 years. Where I work in a wholesale car parts warehouse we get assorted boxes with sometimes the coolest packing and the guys call me a pack rat because they see me squirrel away in a closet under my desk different packing items. Just the other day I brought home a piece of corrugated cardboard. It's only about 8X8 but right away I had something in mind to make with ut for Christmas. Now the idea escapes me so I will make your gingerbread man and..........just last week I recd from Amazon 2 bags of assorted Christmas buttons mostly round but to my surprise (I did not know this when I ordered them) there are Christmas trees and wreaths, bells in the bag and word buttons saying Merry Christmas, Joy, etc. I usually do not decorate until 2 weeks before Christmas but missing my mom so much and her loving my decor so much last Christmas I think I will start this week. My new advent candles have not come yet i had hoped they eoukd have been here in her brass candle holder by today. I have been sick in bed since Friday with a horrible cold that has strapped all my energy. I did a yard sake in 47° weather last Saturday and Sunday. I work in an office without much heat. And even though we wear masks at work and in all public places somehow I still caught someone's germ. Next weekend I am going to NJ to lay a wreath on my mom's grave with my brother and sister. We are using pinecones and holly from her trees in her yard. I am slow to get into the decorating mood with her not being here this Christmas and her executor wants to put up the house for sale this Spring where I have lived since 2019. I feel very hurt that I am not given the opportunity to wheel and deal and try to buy out my brother and sister. Loosing my mom was the #1 hardest thing I have ever hone thru and each day is still traumatizing to me and now I have to move out of her beautiful house. About the time you mentioned loodung your mom in June when making your rocker I was thinking about you and your mom. Your mom was beautiful holding the framed Christmas song you made her last Christmas. I thought to myself how are you able to keep crafting this season. I have lots of ideas of crafts I want to make this season. I have printed off Shannon's printables and bought mini popsicle sticks to make one of her projects and all sit on the kitchen counter. Next to me is my scroll saw book with outlines of trees and bells, etc. I blamed my lack of umph on working every Saturday thru October and Nov and a yard sale last weekend and now my cold but it boils down to sadness and loneliness. My mom loved watching be craft the week of July 4th I made decorations for the porch where we ate close to every meal. I made red white and blue ice cream pops and modpodged core dessert plates with patriotic fabric on the bottom side. I know my mom woukd not want me moping around as we get ready for a holiday she and I loved. I can hear her voice saying, "get your miter saw going, get your beads strung, get your red truck out in the hurricane lamp glass". I sit here in the recliner in her huge living room and look around and I am sad. I do not need a Covid booster I need a Christmas booster. I have no children and no hubby. My boyfriend lost his dad in June and he had to move out of his house where he cared for his mom for the last so many years and his mom passed away in 2019. I plan on putting together a Christmas tree for him again this year. Thank you for yiur wonderful ideas. This week I need to buy some white rickrack and I will make your gingerbread man. I believe I will keep him on my coffee/coco bar. Another surprise I did up for my mom last year that we never had before. I made a cool coffee bar with goodies on her butcher block with a mini lit up tree. Her house became a winter wonderland while she slept one night and her oldest sugarplum danced around on her tippy toes to make everything right. 🥰 Have a blessed week Courtney! Love, Rebekah in VA
