You know these are my favorite videos y’all put out! Loved the music and the event footage was fantastic! It’s all such a terrific vibe. I would love to hit a ren fest with y’all!!
Thank you! It really means a lot to us that you enjoy these. Ren-faires are so much fun and dude, when you've got your peeps, they're all the better. If we ever get to go though, we may need to smuggle in our own turkey legs because those lines are insane!!
I love when you upload these types of videos. It makes me miss our own Renaissance fair out here. I don't get to attend them as much as I would like. But when we do go, we make a whole day of it. And I love when modern references make an appearance at the renaissance fair. Ghostbusters, Ash, even the Goblin King. Love the soundtrack use as well.
Thank you! We do these to encourage people to go, or, maybe fill a bit of that void for those are missing them. It was fun to showcase some of the modern cosplayers too; it's a great way to really show how fun and inclusive ren-faires are! And thank you for enjoying the music too!!
Such a fun time and nobody even knows the trouble we faced behind the camera. All about that positive vibe! And us going to a faire together--ha, good luck! We'd need to start off by living in the same town at least.
@@GamerAhmer Do you ever dress up? Some think it's silly, but it's a much different experience when you do; the actors always love to get into character with you. Plus, Laci's always getting mistaken for one of the employees--ha ha!
The first time I went to the KC RenFest was 1995. Been many times since, it's truly one of the funnest places to hang out. The place just keeps growing... eventually I hope it's open all year round like Silver Dollar City, just closing for the worst part of the winter.
Oh wow, sounds like you've definitely got to see the place change and grow so much; it would be wild to look back at how far they've come since then. And we are with you and would love for a year round visit option, especially seeing it in person with some snow!! Plus, you're zinging straight to our hearts with Silver Dollar City; we're about 45 minutes away and almost always have seasons passes that we put to good use; love that place!
A few weeks ago we went to the Ren Fest in MI & I intended to make a spectacular video like this one. 5 min b4 we got there it started pouring rain and did so the whole time e were there. I was forced to keep both hands on libations so I could say warm. It was still fun of coarse.
Keeping one's grog and mead well protected from the elements for your lordship and lady fair absolutely comes before gathering visuals for the box tube! lol Hopefully you still enjoyed your time there, rain be damned! We did one a few years ago in the rain, even renewed our vows during, and didn't mind a bit of mud!
This kind of stuff looks so fascinating to me! Never been to anything like this, looks really fun and enjoyable. Great music used, really put me in that 'robin hood' mood lol, or as I used to use on msn messenger back in the day 'Robyn Hode' lol .
They really are a lot of fun, and best of all, dressing up adds to the element and interactions. Or in Lady Laci's case, you get mistook for working there. ha ha And thank you--definitely like to get a good audio track or two in for the theme. And you know, in this video I saw a severe lack of Robin Hoods, so, just hinting...
@@DoYouNerd haha , need to get my Robin Hood on.. if I ever go to US and one of these are close to me , I would have to represent England and be Mr Hood , albeit a light brown /reddish version lol Oh haha that just means Lady L was killing it with her costume! Also she seems super approachable and friendly
@@loco_Fox We usually joke with the UK guys in Retro Refresh that if THEY want to go to a ren-fest they just have to go to their backyard because Eddie Izzard taught us you all have castles. LOL
We always have a great time at ren-faires. I can already picture you dressed the part and full-on bard mode, belting out songs as you tour the grounds!
I feel bad that you felt you had to put the disclaimer at the beginning. Have people really been razzing you about attending events for free to make content? Or insinuating you must be getting paid?
Yeah, we were actually getting some really negative responses to event videos not too long ago and I don't think people realize we do these videos in a very unofficial capacity. Our goal is to showcase the event and hopefully do so in a way as if one might visit, and from that give an idea of if it's an event someone may be interested in visiting themselves. So is RUclips life though.
OK, I laughed out loud at "Walking the Plank" so sue me 😂😂
Hey, why do you think I captured the moment? Best of all, it looked like Plank from Ed, Edd, & Eddy. LOL
I haven’t been to one of these in ages! Love all the little comments throughout the video. Glad you had fun
What are you waiting for man! Sure, no boxed SNES games to be found, but drink, wenches, and revelry abound!
Awesome kansas festival vlog. Totally enjoyed the virtual tour around very much. Thanks for sharing
Absolutely! And thank YOU so much for checking it out! We love visiting and making these to see how much the faire changes from year to year.

@@DoYouNerd we've got two more days of fun!
@@SilverLikeStarlight Believe us, if we lived closer, we'd absolutely be spending way more time in the past!
Love the puns strewn throughout the video!
Next year we really need to communicate better and find a day to go together.
Great showcase as always.

Verily good sir! Now, when will thine join us!?
Very nice! This makes me want to go to my local renaissance festival! It’s very similar!

Bowser Balloons!
Dragon pick up where?
Wasn't that awesome!? I kinda wanted to just ask for the Bowser Balloon suit. lol
Tom action figure, comes with puns and real fish eating action.
See, this--THIS is why you'll be doing the write ups for our action figure line...or at least the Funko Pops. LOL
