- Hello Everyone!
Yesterday our channel hit 1 Million Views. I am posting this video as a celebration. Thank you for the endless support! I am really blown away that my videos still resonate with so many people. I have been trying to keep myself away from tactics other channels use to get more views. I am just an ordinary guy having a 9 to 5 job who likes to go out in nature when possible (weekend warrior). These videos are just documenting the moments of happiness and solitude we can get during weekends or in Holidays.
Anyways, this video was supposed to be one of the videos that I used the incredible Fuji XT3 and R6 together. After I drove all Friday night, first thing I did in the morning was dropping the XT3.
Last time I dropped a camera and broke a lens was in 2011. I don't have a Fuji zoom lens anymore. It is gone :( So, trip had a very awkward start. I didn't have a secondary Fuji lens with me. Only option was using R6 and 16mm f2.8 for the entire trip. I did it in the past so I am ok with one lens one camera setup. I am only sad to miss some nice long shots along the coast. XT3 and 16-80mm f4 was missed especially on the last day when 2 eagles flew over me.
When I was posting the video I imagined this happening on a different youtube channel. Possibly the title would be "I broke my lens" and a big sad face thumbnail. Hyping some shots about how it happened etc. Maybe I should start doing that. I don't know :)
Anyways!
As always thank you so much for watching! I'll see you on the next one!
Best,
Baris
PS: This video will go live by tomorrow morning. I am leaving SF for a hike in Yosemite tonight. I might see your comments later in the day or next day. Please let me know what you think!

I heard the heartbreaking news that a photographer dropped from the cliff leading to Natural Bridges only a couple days after I filmed this video. I can't stress enough how important it is to be prepared while going to these dangerous locations. If you are planning to visit Natural Bridges, please don't go when it is muddy. First section is very steep. Also make sure you got good hiking shoes. This place is not a joke. I would recommend visiting first time with someone familiar with the area. On my visit I helped a family out of the hike. They had slippers and had no idea how steep the fist section was. No photo is worth the risk. Stay safe!
People are so dumb these days. Its sad but most of these incidents including one in nh on franconia were all the result of a lack of common sense and preparation
Watching your videos is always like a short vacation I am enjoying. Wonderfull work and stunning captures. Keep inspiring us!
Hey man thank you! I think the main reason I am making is to watch and feel like I am in vacation while being busy in office. So glad u get the same feeling! I really loved your channel name! Photons are precious!
This was beautiful and blissful. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
You're incredibly underrated! You have an eye for composition, framing, lighting and colors! Enjoyed watching a lot, very inspirational !!
Hey Thank you! 🙏🏻
Just wow. So beautiful.
Thank you so much 😊
Damn, this video straight sold me that lens. Beautiful
Hey thank you! Last thing I want to do is make someone purchase sth because of me but I hope you enjoy using it and I don't feel too bad :)
Always beautiful and serene videos!
Thank you very much!
Bravo! Again a great film!
Thank you!
Brilliant work! Also, you have a new sub!
Thank u for watching!
Amazing !👍👍👍
Thank you!
This video is so beautiful!
Hey! Thanks a lot!
Beautiful footage :))
Thanks!
amazing video :)
Thank you!!!
amazing !!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent production value
Thanks :)
incredible once again! Did you use a particular LUT in Premiere Pro to get this lovely Cinematic effect and what aspect did you export to?
Hey Thanks again! I use Davinci Resolve. I study light a lot and shoot mostly if I feel like light is good. I use LUTs on and off but mostly it is manual edit on top of a basic rec709 LUT.
Thank you for not adding in some cheesy vague narration like everyone does
these type of comments make me nervous about my future videos haha
Sheeshhh🔥
I love watching your videos, very relaxing, beautiful landscapes and great quality. I see that you have already tested all kinds of cameras, I would like to know if you have a preference for any and why? Thanks for sharing. Sorry for my english, google translator, I'm from Brazil.
Hey Radar thanks a lot for the nice words! I think all brands make great cameras. Currently I use Canon but It's not because it is better and other brands are bad. I just use it because it fits my workflow better.
thxxx for thissssss
Thanks for watching!!!
Amazing content! The mood and ambient you capture is amazing.
Seeing that you are both a Canon and Fuji user, which system is your favourite as a hybrid shooter? I am torn between the Canon R7 (good all rounder with the kit lens) vs Fuji's XT5 or XS-20 (slightly more portable, and feels like a proper old camera). Any suggestions?
Hey thanks a lot for the support! I usually prefer using Canon for my personal projects. They are both great systems. I really hesitate recommending gear since these are just tools and what I like might not be the best choice for you. Canon is just a little more efficient for I do. I am much more faster in creating with Canon in every step. Shooting, editing, color grading etc. I would first check what lenses you will be using and then decide on the system. Camera bodies change in time but usually lenses have a longer lifecycle. Hope this helps! Have a great day!

Hello again friend hope all is well in your creative world! I wanted to ask you where did you get the sound you use in the videos ? from the music to the ocean sound effects?
Hello! I mostly use musicbed or if I have the time I compose for some parts. For sound effects I record my own sound fx.
Hey, which ND Filter do you use for the 16mm ? Thank you.
To be honest I don’t use any ND on 16mm. Sometimes polarizer or mist filter
what memory card do you recommend for shooting video with R6? Thanks!
Hello! I am in no position to recommend the best SD card since there are some crazy new good ones out there. I have been using Sony M series cards for a while and in general super happy. The most current one I purchased is Sony M Series UHS-II Card 277MB/S speed
hey, can you explaiin on the color profile you used here for the canon r6? did film that on flat profile and than work edit i guess right? I would like to know what you did. amazing video ! thanks
Hey Shiran Thanks! I use Clog and do color grading after
@@barparildar Thnks for your responding.
You using for the edit lut presets? If yes, can you tell wich one?
Thanks!
@@Shirango I don't use presets. I have some luts I created but I change them regularly.
@@barparildar send me some :) Its look amazing this video !
Nice adventure and photos! I’m thinking of the R5 for hiking. I typically use a clip to attach my current camera to the shoulder strap of the backpack. Do you think the R5 would be too big and heavy for carrying on the shoulder strap?
Thank you! In my experience it all depends on the bag, lens (weight, size) and level of hiking route. I use a peak design capture clip with R6 and 16mm with no issues. I recently did a 2 night backpacking trip into the Grand Canyon. It was totally fine on capture clip.
@@barparildar would you say R6 or R5 with 18-135 mm lens would be too big and heavy for a 10 mile hike round trip, 4000 ft eg?
It is very difficult for me to make a guess. I would try the setup on a shorter hike to check before heading out for 10 miles.
@@barparildar thanks. I think I’m going with the R7 and 18-150 mm instead.
Hi, what do you use for color upgrade?
Hi. Davinci Resolve
Did you struggle with any warp with the 16mm
Hi, I don’t use IS so, no
Please tell me you are not using the same mic still😝
Wait so are you getting your camera fixed or is it over??
@@MichaelYoungKim So here is what happened. I lost my Videomicro, bought anohther one. And I found the other one in my trunk :) So I have 2 now!
XT3 is working but lens will probably cost more to repair. Sad :(
Such a beautiful memory of solitude captured out there - thanks for sharing this creative production, man!🙌🏽
Thank you for watching Chad!!!
Another beautiful piece of work, Baris - truly stunning. Sorry about the XT-3 and the lens, you really did an incredible job with the single body and lens, always ready to demonstrate the value of creativity over gear. Definitely makes me want to get back to the PNW.
Hey Matt thank you! Luckily XT3 is still working fine. I was able to use it yesterday in Yosemite. PNW has so much to explore. Every season deserves another trip!
Stunningly outstanding imagery and tastefully edited as usual!
Thanks a lot Damon! Really appreciate positive feedback.
Thanks for sharing 😊 did you use HDR video mode or C-Log then color grade?
Thanks for watching! This was shot in C-Log and graded
Wow, great footage again. Nice video and pictures. It's almost meditative.
Thank you so much Paul! Especially the morning at Samuel H Boardman in the morning was meditative. I never had that place all to my self. Sound off the waves, smell and just being there alone made it unforgettable.
hallo Baris, nice video, you use in this video promist filter?thank you all the best man.
Thanks Martin. I haven’t used mist filter in this one. Only had polarizer on R6
That looks great, I'm interested in using this lens in crop mode too as there is very little trade off in quality when shooting in crop mode and it will give you a near 26mm equivalent at the touch of a finger. 26mm is a good classic cinematic length for most shooting scenarios . I just ordered this lens. does anyone have any examples of cropped video at 26mm (25.6mm). Basically I want to create the smallest cinematic rig that delivers, and If I bought a 50mm R mount lens I could swap lens without needed to rebalance gimbal. I have a larger rig that likely weights 15 lbs but it might as well weight 100lbs after 30 mins
Thank you for watching! This video includes a lot of crop mode scenes as well.
@@barparildar I’ll check and thanks
it looks great, it that mostly teal and orange color grading?
Congratulations, and gorgeous. What type of program do you use?
Hi! Thanks for watching! I use Resolve free version for everything
Beautifully edited! Do you colour grade your footage? Lovely video.
Hey Thank U! Yes I grade my footage
Beautiful shots, love the colors. 👍👍
Thank you Sean!
I'm inspired! Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
oh my god, giant tree
Footage is so great
Thank u!!!
This looks good, did you use a filter?
Thanks! No filters used
Nice short film that makes me excited to visit Oregon.
So many places to see in Oregon! Every season is beautiful!
Did you use an ND or Mist at all? If so what did you use, these are stunning!!
Thank u! I believe I added some glow effect in resolve to have the similar look of mist filters. I try avoiding mist filters lately since they exaggerate reflections causing unnecessary blown out highlights
Fantastic video and great colors 👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Just a great Video! Fantastic art.
Thank you so much 😀
Great!!!! i´ve got r6 and i think now i need rf 16mm ;)
Thanks! If you like super wide field of view and not too focused on image quality and focus noise you can't go wrong with this lens. I keep it as a back up even if I am not using it
Realy lovend it. Thanx for sharing.
Thank u so much for watching!
I didn’t know Oregon was so beautiful and so magical. Thank you again
Oregon has a lot more than this :) It has so much beauty from rivers, lakes, mountains, wild animals, amazing food, one of the best coastal line etc.
It’s a wake-up call. 👍
sorry for your loss on the lens mate
Thank you man! I was in Yosemite yesterday and the only Fuji lens I had was the 23mm. Zoom was highly missed
Always inspirational - Big thanks
Thank you so much for the support John!
Wow! In proper hands, this lens looks marvelous!
Thanks! When light and location is good, it is possible to create sth watchable.
Do you have color lut packs that you favor?
I really like the free Arri LUT in Resolve but I only use LUTs I create for my RUclips vieeos
@@barparildar do you sell them?
@@deeceevisuals I don’t sell luts
that shot @3:40 is incredible
That spot is usually very busy. I got lucky to have it for myself for almost an hour!
Beautiful 🖤
Thank you!!!
amazing!
Thanks!
Brilliant footage!
Thank you Paul!!
Nice VDO 🙂
Thanks!
Awesome
Thank you!
Beautiful
Thank you!
woah. my r6 should arrive today or tomorrow I’m hella excited for it!!
It's a pretty good camera. Enjoy!
watching your videos, I don't know if it's just my perception, of all cameras, I see a better quality in the Canon R6. What do you think?
Let's say I love all cameras and don't like to compare them. All have good and bad sides. I can't say one camera is better quality than the other since it can be measured by so many parameters.
Do you use focal length f11 to shoot these scenes?
Hi I use all kind of f-stops depending on the scene from 2.8 to 9. I rarely go over 9
Shots all look nice and level with no barrel distortion that I’m hearing about in reviews. How did you correct that (or avoid it)? Very nice video!
Hey Thanks! Since distortion correction is made in camera I don't find this lens having much worse distortion than any other super wide angle lens. I didn't do any post correction. I followed the general rule of not pointing the camera up or down much when there is a straight line to avoid exaggerating distortion. Tried to keep the camera level as much I as I could
Awesome video! I'm strongly considering the R6 for myself and videos like this help me gauge the video quality very well!
Hey! Thanks a lot for watching Charles. To be honest there are no more bad cameras around. All brands make crazy good cameras. I hope you get the best camera for your needs and enjoy using it!
Not sure if you bought it. I returned it and got the R5C and was a solid move
Did you have any overheating problems? Do you take small shots and always turn the camera on and off? Thanks
I never had overheating issues but yeah I only shoot short clips. I keep the camera open a lot thought in stand by mode. Usually forget to turn off between shots
Came for the lens, stayed for de the video. Amazing quality and vibe!
Thank you for staying! More to come soon!
im going to buy this 16mm... amazing work men.. love it
Thanks a lot! I really don’t want to overhype the lens by the way. It is only good because of the weight and price. Nothing too special. A regular 16mm :
this is effective art. bells activated 🔔
Thanks a lot for watching!
Stunning shots!!
Thanks a lot!
Did use a variable ND or mist filter? if so which one ?
Only used Polarizer
Sweet footage bro !! U made it look like a super movie!!! Lol. What program do u edit with?
@@ThegoldengodTrini Thanks! I use Free Version of Resolve for everything
Which polarizer filter brand did you use ? I have freewell filters but they don't make a 43mm step up ring:/
