Hi Jimmy! I'm very VERY partial to the P51... especially THAT P51! My father built a 3/4 scale Lohle 5151 from aircraft spruce and fabric. But he used the CRAZY HORSE paint scheme. He added "V12 minus 10" as it had a 2 cylinder Rotax! Lol If you'd like some pics... let me know! Love your channel! Thanks for all you do!
THE P-51 !!! I'm an "older" guy. I'm NOT a pilot but I freaking LOVE planes. The Mustang has been a favorite for most of my life and then seeing one fly in "Maverick" brought back those feelings from when I was a kid.
Absolutely has to be the P51!!!! I have had a 45 minute ride in one and unequivocally I can say that had to be my best aviation moment in my life!! The Mustang will never disappoint anybody!!!
P51! Yeah, the jet is cool but come on! The P51 is one of the most iconic planes of all TIME! The sound of the Merlin? Insane! Plus, it's the one that this old veteran wants you to take on a ride!
Absolutely the P-51. I had a friend that was a P-51 Pilot in WWII. The name of his plane was “Ain’t Miss Behavin” and Chuck Yeager was in his squadron. He had some great stories to tell.
The P-51 is a beautiful airplane, I was fortunate to have Col. Dean Hess for my teacher in high school not because of his stories witch we used to bug him for now and then but the fact that he was such a wonderful person loved by everyone.
Jimmy! P-51 has been a dream of mine. That is the most iconic heroes masterpiece that has ever been built! Thank you for your channel and all the good things you do!
The P-51! It's a legendary and historic plane. I had the opportunity to have a flight in one and it was a flight I will never ever forget! There is nothing like the power and the sound of this amazing aircraft! I can only dream of owning one. In the air it has a distinct sound that no other plane has. It is definitely one of my favorite planes of all time!
A ham radio friend of mine (and an amazing morse code operator) who was a radio guy in the Navy many moons ago claimed that they use to take cookie dough and place it in the waveguide of the microwave antennas and flip the switch up for a bit and make cookies long before the microwave oven was invented. When you talked about cooking a stake in a ultrasonic cleaner it reminded me of that story.
Can you imagine being a short-wave radio operator and on Christmas Eve of 1906, you are listening in your headset to morse code, and you hear Christmas Music being played by Reginald Fessenden using Amplitude Modulation (AM) being transmitted from his transmission tower he built 30 miles SE of Boston, MA. The signal was picked up not only by ham operators but by ships at sea and the US NAVY. 😳
As a child there used to be a Mr. Wizard style presentation at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry where they placed a corn cob between two plates of a microwave antenna and made pop corn in a few seconds. I always wondered how the presenter didn't cook himself.
Great job showing and telling, great video I am learning things about plane’s I never knew . I am 65 years old, when I was about 23 years old I painted or help get the plane ready to paint. That was fun to work doing that, I can tell more but I’ll say bye for now text at you later see ya bye Jimmy’s world.
Use the basket in your cleaner - if the part you're cleaning sits on the bottom, it doesn't give the wave a chance to propagate. So the bottom of your object won't get clean.
@@lynnkramer1211 - I am *so far* from a Karen in any way shape or form it's not even funny. I'm like the antithesis of Karen! I actively go out at night to hunt and slay Karens! Walking down the street, people just NAMED Karen shudder in fear and walk the other way. I just want his shit clean.
Oh, no doubt, the Mustang for sure! It’s an aviation legend! How many pilots wouldn’t absolutely love having that in their logbook?!? Especially the infamous Crazy Horse!
I know a guy who owned an SR22. I used to own an SR20. His annuals cost 16K. I then knew it was time to get out of GA. Unless I win the lottery, then I'm back in.
Flying a P51 is pretty much the only thing I’ve ever said was on my bucket list. It’s just crazy expensive though. I’ve had to put other things first. Love your videos!!
Appreciate yalls service. I'm active USAF, KC-135R Instructor. The Vets at my local airport were the gentlemen that turned me to aviation and the military. Boy did they have stories to tell. Akron-Jesson Field in New York (9G3) is the code. Amazing little airport if anyone wants to pass through. They have hangars and the field is beautiful.
I have really enjoyed your content this year I like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family A Very Merry Christmas and a very prosperous new year🥝🇳🇿
I flew the T-6 with Steve Larmore at Stallion 51 and it was the best experience of my life! Definitely recomend to anyone to try it! Hope to go again one day on one of their P-51!
My wife's brother recently passed away. His wife wants to sell his plane. Can you name a place to list the plane? Really enjoy your videos. Single engine Piper. In Michigan.
Wow! It was GREAT to see Stallion 51 and especially my P-51 pal "Crazy Horse II," in which I enjoyed an hour of time over the Avon Park bombing range a few years back. I had the controls from wheels up to wheels down and learned barrel rolls, wingovers, loops and other maneuvers from a real pro. Put Stallion 51 on your bucket list too!
Chad, it was back in 2009, and I paid about $1100 for the ride of my life. It was worth EVERY PENNY of it (it included photos of me and my super cool instructor pilot and a DVD of every second from startup to shut down - and it looks really great in my log book!). Go for it, or you''ll always wish you had!@@chadwickalexanderjr1758
My first job out of High School was for Aircraft Services Inc on the GA side of MCO in Orlando. Lee Lauderback was then flying for Arnold Palmer and had the first Crazy Horse on the south side of the airfield. At 18yo I got to fuel that beautiful thing several times and it was amazing. Stallion 51 might be in Kissimmee now. Great for them for how they have grown their business!
back when ultrasonics ( cleaners) first came out, lab techs were sticking their fingers in them to clean their fingernails. shortly after the ultrasonics companies ( like Ney) were sending out memo's that doing that was separating cartilage/muscle/bone and ruining peoples hands.
For me, no doubt about it, P-51 Mustang-dang! Vrrrrrrrooooom! Speed, beauty of design and of course, those honorable WW-II hero Red Tails that helped American attitudes about race. Love the birds and every woman and man who fly or maintain these beautiful planes.
Lol to the steak in the ultrasonic cleaner. When I worked for an airline, we were third shift on thanksgiving.., we took a Turkey and vacuum bagged it and put it in the autoclave we would normally use for composite repairs… best and juiciest Turkey I have ever had….lmao. No kidding
P51D all day long. A former dispatcher I worked with when I was a deputy was a amazing painter and my father bought it for me so I have the Missouri mule hanging in my so called office at home
My most favorite war plane is the P-51. I just love those things. Was watching TG2 last night…again….and told my wife I would love to get a ride in a P-51. That would fulfill one of my bucket list items.
Been there! Done that! The thrill of a life time. The pilots and staff are fantastic at Stallion 51! And I visit everytime I'm in Kissimmee. Definately the Mustang!
Looks like you were visiting the Stallion 51 hangers. Love their aircraft. Their instructor John Posson is an incredible pilot and team mate with the Patriots Jet Team back in 2007-13 timeframe.
The P51 is the hands down winner of what I would want to take a ride in. You could find ways to get a ride in another fighter jet, but the 51 is so iconic and rare, would be a dream come true! Love your work and what you do for others. Merry Christmas!! (not afraid to say it! 'Merica)
PLEASE PLEASE more info on the Rutan next to Cameron PLEASE. Those are an awesome plane. we used to have one fly over us often. They have such a distinct sound from the rear prop.
As I watched your comments on upgrading the mags, reminded me of the time I was in the Air Force, when we broke and did not have the parts to fix the plane we canned parts of other aircraft , downgraded the red x and flew home or to the nearest base that had the correct parts, C-130 was a workhorse, Retired after 22 years as a E8 (Smsgt), as for the the aircraft to fly, who ever you chose will be a lucky sole to fly either one, "Can I get a clear Prop!"
Would love to go with you on this trip. I definitely pick the L39, I've been trying to save up to get a ride in Fullerton, can't afford it, they want 3k. So pick me Jimmy....pplleeaassee!!

But Crazy Horse was also a well-known and loved P51 on the ICAS airshow circuit. Cheers
Here’s a trick for using an ultrasonic cleaner. Fill the ultrasonic cleaner with the recommended amount of water. Use a glass or plastic container with a lid. Pour in a bit of your favorite cleaning solution, add your parts and seal the container. Now place the container in the cleaner and clean your parts. This way you can use different cleansers and not contaminate the water in the cleaner. Not sure if there are any FAA rules regarding types of cleaning solutions are acceptable, so use due diligence.

The P-51 all day...I'm sure my dad had a model of one of those above my crib!
P-51 for sure. That and the Corsair are my favorite WWII fighters.

I live near the factory where this L-39 was built. Nice to see this plane here with Jimmy.
The Mustang for sure. I have never really considered owning an airplane, but that one has always been the exception.
Fly the P51!! No brainer. Easily one of the two most beautiful planes of WWII. The other being the P38.
You have a great sense of humor, I am not a pilot but your energy is the reason I watch
