very clear step-by-step explanation, that allowed me to construct my own spreadsheet model - thanks. You could avoid doing the same sum-of-squares-of-differences SUM((B2:B20-C2:C:20)^2) calculation twice, by calculating cell H6 first, and setting H5 to =SQRT(H6/H4)
