I have to say, I've watched a lot of dharma podcasts and you're a really great interviewer. Your questions are precise. You are always steering the conversation in a way that seeks to help the listeners. Thank you for your work! You should definitely interview more people -- you're really good at it.
Frank once tried selling me a dodgy looking apple. It was so old it was grey. I didn't buy it. He said "good for you brother, this isn't edible" and he threw it away. That has been my only interaction with the guy, interesting to see him here on the channel.
On the beginning of my path I started out with a lot of psychedelics over a short period of time, and that fast tracked me into A&P territory. After that, it seems like you need to do the heavy lifting to know how to develop equanimity and concentration which is something that a psych can't do for you. Psychs definitely feel like they boost your baseline mindfulness for a short period of time, but that is something I was grasping at the moment my trip was over.
abiding in a state of equanimity is a good answer to what is happiness- but i get the sense that many are resting here due to the difficulty of simultaneously shifting between relative and absolute in daily life. speaking sternly, being serious and invested in an activity is difficult while “abiding” in that state. this is more than “caution” spiritual bypass. look around at most non dual prqctitioners and i dont see them running businesses and being fully engaged in life. they seek and occupy a kind of support role/status. but not a word about service-which is where frank is or is heading. great questions from interviewer re growing up- which is where most stop short.
Frank, at the end you talk about memories of the past being layers of contraction on top of the present moment. So how do you relate to memories today? If you think of trauma event does that cause a contraction? Why or why not? What would be a helpful way for unawakened person to interact with past memories- even good ones that we are sad are in the past. Thank you! BTW Best Frank Yang interview yet both from questions and the answers. Great job gentlemen.
I know Frank used to do transcendental meditation. I'd like to know where TM sits on the contraction/expansion spectrum. Mantra is sometimes labelled concentration, but TM emphasises an effortless approach where the mantra is just barely noticed and allowed to change its rhythm, sound etc.
You can literally hallucinate objects and beings into existence because what's happening is you're tapping into that pure abstract creative potential of mind. That's exactly what you want. Of course it can be kind of freaky but Frank Yang is that times a thousand.
This 7 years part iam sure Frank is going to change his idea about it :) . Anyway for me realization occurred last march and since then I didn't care to integrate so much , for me the so called integration is just increasing the total energy the body has from emptiness , so yeah sometimes I do that but only when it seems important like cleaning the room .

It's usually not experienced that way, because as he continues to say, he is still doing stuff. Motivation is a superficial feeling oftentimes stemming from delusion. Finding what truly drives one is indeed sometimes a jarring road, but ultimately absolutely worth it.
@@maximefournier1053 I’m doing just as much if not more than before, working 10 - 12 hours a day editing, coaching, writing, lifting and doing integration work. But none of it is driven by “motivation”. motivation mostly only comes from the passion of the separate self and it usually won’t last very long. It’s just an extra layer of filter to cause more contraction.

Thank you 🙏 I'll definitely have more people as interview guests in the future.
@@ConsciousDevelopment I agree 100% with the commenter’s points. And please have Frank back on someday in the future to catch-up! 🙏

In 7 years, nearly every cell is replaced, without or without Awakening.
What is the spelling of the vipassana he’s speaking to that’s in non duality

So Is unconditioned better than conditioned. Is expansion better than contraction. Or is contraction how the infinite takes form.
Schöne Fragen:-)
true awakening is realizing god is real and it isnt you or anyone else that was born because only god is unborn and always is.

Haha, that's a good analogy🙏

Hmm, so even after enlightenment you can still have addictions and obsessions to deal with.
Many will naturally tend to drop away, but some areas may still need work.
As of 2.5 years after Realization I can I have 0 addictions right now

Depressing
Why did you find it depressing?
@@shaybryant2355 at 1:00:46 Frank is saying that he is not motivated to do anything. I think its depressing
