Amazing collection !! I recently acquired a Half Crown dated 1888, didn't cost me too much at all as it isn't top grade, but fine to very fine, and for that reason seems more "real" somehow than a perfect example. I love it, and as an Aston Villa fan, 1888 is significant as the formation of the Football League. One of my favourite coins in my collection, and not at all the most expensive one either. You don't necessarily need to spend a lot to get satisfaction from our hobby.
I just bought 5 1/10oz year of dog, pig, sheep, rooster and 1 other for £200 each! He even argued with me they were 22kt 😂😂 when I told him they were 24kt! All gas no brakes! Completely buzzing!
@@RedabowAndBusmalisa gold shop near me. When I saw them up for £210 each even at 22kt I was like ill have one but I double checked myself they were 24kt and just happened to say will you take £200 each for all 5 and he rang the boss and he said yes. I've tested them on my sigma and they're all perfect. The guy working there told me he bought a 2023 1oz Britannia for his son. I asked "when did you buy that" he said "3-4 years ago😂 for £1700! So he bought a coin that wasn't minted before it was minted! He would not be working for me I'll tell you that! 😂😂
That SA piece is stunning! I’d pay a dollar for that!
4:32 the toning on that coin is lovely!

Just to add a bit of macabre history to your coin as well.... that was also the year Jack the ripper was active on the streets of London.
