I'm absolutely loving your top!!
Thank you! It's from a Killstar collection last year or the year before and super soft stretchy mesh material, I love it too!
Obligatory vampire novel, 'House of Hunger' set in a very gothic secondary world, really about the exploitation of the dispossessed.
'Deadfall Hotel' a novel made up of a serious of interconnected vignettes, the one about the cats being a real standout. Set in a hotel for supernatural guests, kind of an Addams family vibe.
Also, in a slightly different way another one with a bit of an Addams family vibe, 'What Big Teeth'. A fair bit darker than the previous book. Has werewolves.
'Such Sharp Teeth' a fun novel about dealing with family and turning into werewolf. Same author also wrote 'Cackle' a more light hearted novel about witchcraft.
'Those Across the River' a not so lighthearted werewolf novel set in the depression era south. Very much on the horror end of things. Really great dialogue, and just generally great novel.
Thank you so much for all the recommendations! I'm going to take a look at if I can get any of them to read soon ^^ Deadfall Hotel sounds like something I would really enjoy.
I've been considering reading The Scarlet Veil and now I'm definitely gonna read it. Also the eyeshadow you're wearing is so gorgeous I couldn't take my eyes off it!🖤
Thank you so much! It's from the Jolie Beauty Vampyrism palette and the shades are amazing.
Also, for the Scarlet Veil, there's a second book to it that will be out in March 2025 (The Shadow bride).
wow! thank you, love your top ❤️
You are very welcome 🖤 and thank you, it's from an old Killstar collection
Oh! Thank you for the recommendations, I kinda like them all, but I'm super interested in the Bitterthorn book, and your edition is gorgeous!
I read When Among Crows because of you and I loved it!
A book that I also think will be perfect during this season is Belladonna! It is a magical story where the main character can see spirits and Death! It has a Gothic vibe to it and touches morbid subjects without being morbid, but magical (at least that's how I think it is 😂)
Happy October!
I think my edition is either from Fairyloot or Illumicrate (if you are from Belgium, go have a look on Vinted, they often sell them).
Belladonna is on my TBR, I just upped it a bit so I'll hopefully get to it sooner ^^
Thank you again so much for your comments!
I literally just finished A Dowry of Blood before watching this video 😁 I never thought I would love that book as much as I did. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was 👌🏼👌🏼 It added so much to the atmosphere of the book.
I'm glad I'm not the only perosn taken back by how good it was, glad you like it too!
I just started Dracula today! A Dowry of Blood is on my list right after that.😊
Feel free to let me know what you think 🖤
So many of these I have on my list! I wonder if you’ve read Carmilla? It is said to have inspired Dracula. I will be reading it this month, it’s quite short. I also wonder if you have read some more of the spooky/horror by T. kingfisher? I have a couple I want to read, like The Hollow Places and What Moves the Dead, but I am not a fan of true horror, I scare easy hehe, I enjoy just the spooky vibes like Nettle & Bone, or maybe Belladonna (which I just finished and enjoyed very much). I’m wondering because you mentioned in this video that you don’t love the gory stuff either, so if you read those and liked them I probably will too. You seem to have similar tastes to mine in books 😊🖤💀
I'm currently actually reading 'what moves the dead' by T Kingfisher. It will definitely be in my October reading wrap up.
I want to read Carmilla and more classic vampire stories, so I can more accurately compare things to them and find references to the source inspiration, but except for Dracula, I haven't yet.
Thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate it!
I'm gonna read The Scarlet Veil this season too. Thay had me at the "one coffin" instead of one bed trope🤭
It really didn't have a lot of spice either, but I really enjoyed it! Very moody
The Scarlet Veil is a duology and if you didn’t know, it’s a spin-off of the Serpent and Dove trilogy
Awesome that it's going to be a dualogy, I didn't feel like Serpent and Dove was for me when I read the information, does it contain vampires as well?
@@TalesofNeverwhere no it’s mostly about witches. I didn’t even know vampires existed in that world until I saw Scarlet Veil on Amazon or Goodreads and read the synopsis
Yeah I'll keep to the vampire series ^^
Scarlet Veil is sucha pretty book😍 I just ordered the paperback but its not out til Dec 3😩
Im just starting Kingdom of the Wicked, have you read that? I know its older.. I also want to try Nocticadia and Anathema by Keri Lake. Great recommendations as always
I have the trilogy of the Kingdom of the wicked in my bookshelves but haven't read it yet...
Scarlet Veil is amazing and beautiful, I have both the waterstones special edition as well as from either faoryloot of illumicrate, I cant decide which one I like most so I'm keeping them both for now.
I hope you'll love it as well!
