I always thought it was hilarious that Scott picked up a skull as his "favorite thing"! I believe they literally picked up whatever was closest to them on the table, so it wasn't planned. I loved the random things falling from the ceiling, especially when the scarf almost landed on Matt's head! The band said they felt bad for the crew members because they had to go pick all that stuff back up after each take!
I think drama boy Scott, improvising with the random stuff on the table, had a Shakespearean moment and cast himself as Hamlet with the skull of Yorick.
It's extra funny to me because I had seen a video where a classical singer was going through the male voice types and she'd said something like baritones always end up looking like they're Hamlet holding a skull in front of them. And I immediately thought of Scott and how he has trouble keeping his hands from doing that...and then I saw this mv a few days later and laughed yself silly when he picked up that skull. He does love the dramatic, for sure.

Yeah it's like a gothic take on the song & gives similar vibes to their cover of Making Christmas. I think the skull as a favorite thing is a reference to theater, as MacBeth is a classic always referenced by the guy holding up a skull & talking to it.
I heard that they did this as if a vampire family invited you over for dinner.
This video needs to be watched a few times because you'll see something new every time you watch it. Speaking of stuff falling from the skies, at one point the line was ...girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes... and you saw one of those blue fabric pieces falling out of the sky at that exact moment. Scott's choice of a skull as his favorite thing I found just too funny and I think Kevin's was a cell phone.

This was like an oxymoron, two contradicting ideas. A sweet, wholesome lyrical song pared with a spicy music video. That's why I love Pentatonix. You are funny, that's why I love your reactions.

I loved the disconnect between the lyrics of this "Christmasy" song and the costumes and make-up. Made if feel like The Nightmare Before Christmas to me!
I always love when they are having fun with a song. They always have fun, but you know what I mean. Playful fun. Kirstie's voice is great, makeup great costume perfect, The guys look devious and up to no good. She's Maria and they are the Von Trap boys LOL. Love the reaction thx😎
They were saying when they made this video that the production people were just throwing random things into the frame. Also if you notice the things they themselves pick up are pretty funny..lol
One of the crew were up on the scaffolding throwing random stuff down onto the stage as part of the effects.
They told their staff to toss stuff down at them. You are one of the few reactors who made mention of it. Love ya for it. Keep up the good work. You only have a few more hundred more to go!!!

PTX releases their Christmas albums in October & I always ask my kids for the CD as my birthday present (October 29th). In recent years PTX has released an official video for a song from the current Christmas album right around Halloween and given it a spooky vibe. This video is one example & "Making Christmas" is another. I think Sup3rfruit might have gotten this ball rolling when they released "GUY. exe" around Halloween? I love this video!
They also did nightmare before Christmas.

Most everyone has touched on it but this was a Alice in Wonderland theme. I don’t know for sure but I believe the things falling were related to their favorite things (which they were each holding). I agree that they are always amazing, even when I don’t think I’ll like something I do.
