    Awesome video as always, keep up the great work!
    PS Do you think I should train more often(for now I train 6timesX 90minutes per week, is that optimal for max progress?

    • @FencersEdge
      @FencersEdge  5 лет назад +2

      Yes, for best results I recommend training at least 3 times per week for 1-2hours per session. Also, I recommend watching as much fencing as you can stand! Keep up the hard work and I know you will see positive results!!!

    Do you have any tips for removing bends and kinks from blades? I have had two bf fie medium foil blades and I have managed to put sideways bends in both of them. Also, the one that I currently use has a kink in it from a bout in which it bent almost 90 degrees upwards. I am about to get more blades and I want to know how to get the longest usable lifespan from them. Thanks for all you great vids!

    • @ottocast6525
      @ottocast6525 4 года назад

      You can bend them with your hands

    • @FencersEdge
      @FencersEdge  4 года назад +1

      Next week I will be starting a series of videos on gear maintenance and repair. This will be one of the topics I cover. There are a few ways...
      1) Try placing the blade on the ground, then step on the blade at the point of the Kink and lift up on the blade.
      2) Get a big crescent wrench. Stick the blade through the hole in the handle of the wrench. Use the leverage of the wrench to bend the kink out of the blade.
      3) Place the blade in a vice at the point of the kink and push or pull on the blade to bend the kink out of the blade.

      I’m currently looking for a better blade cuz one lunge is enough to have my blade be 90 degrees, any blades u can recommend? (for foil)

    When I order a foil weapon, should I ask them to bend inward about 5 degrees (canted) or just straight (uncanted)? What your are recommendations on canting? Some people even want it canted downward too.

    • @ethanl8624
      @ethanl8624 3 года назад +2

      As a beginner, you don't need higher level gear. I would suggest just getting cheap gear from Blue Gauntlet, and then slowly upgrading as you get more advanced. Also you just look silly if you get expensive gear as a beginner.
