Here's a tip: if you hear "shk" or "sht" in the middle of a word, it's Japanese. Those sounds don't exist in Korean. Same goes for words ending in "ai" (unless they are English loan words).

Korean is more centered around lazy pronunciation that flows from one sound to another and sort of tripping over the consonants like Japanse does is not a natural occurence. It would sound a lot more like the way the romanization is written in this case. Hope that made sense.
