Saeed, you're on a roll with this early 60s music. This was the first version of this song released in 1961. It was a big hit for them. In 1960, they also had a number one hit with Carol King's "Will You Love Me Tomorrow". Another big song of theirs is "Dedicated to the One I Love".
Beatles fan crushed on The Shirelles. Shirelles were very big until the British Invasion. Can't wait to you hit the Lesley Gore Trilogy; It's My Party, She's A Fool, Judy's Turn to Cry.
Another one of the great girl groups from the 50's-60's. They had a lot of great songs such as "I Met Him On A Sunday", "Tonight's The Night", "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", "Dedicated To The One I Love", "Soldier Boy", "Boys", "Mama Said", "Foolish Little Girl" etc.
Thank you, Saeed 😊. Each one was different and this original started it all. Smith made it their own with the "Blusey" sound. But I grew up with the Shirelles and all their music. That's not to say I didn't love the others, I truly did and as I grew older in the late 60's and early 70's and music styles changed, I started appreciating the different styles. Still, my first love would be the Shirelles. Much love to you and your family ❤️ 🫂
The pre-Beatles Girl Group sound and era was wonderful. During the CD era there were tons of Girl Group box sets for sale. I have a couple, plus many individual CDs. I remember riding my bike around the Long Beach-San Pedro area, as a very young boy, in the early 1960s with a transistor radio plugged into one ear, listening to a lot of the Beach Boys and Girl Group hits. My favorite Shirelles's song to this day is "Foolish Little Girl." Please check out that record. 😊
The Beatles covered this on their very first album, from their obvious nightclub playlists. The cut their singing chops on many groups, but the Shirelles were on of them they emulated. The Beatles also covered their song "Boys"with Ringo singing .
There is actually a 4th good version of this song by Hailey Reinhart. Her rendition is a little closer to the Smith take on it than it is to The Beatles or The Shirelles, but she also throws in a couple of "sha la las" as a homage to the original
@@SaeedReacts. The Carpenter's version is a totally different take on this classic record. It is more of a slow burn number. Would like to hear your reaction to the Carpenter's recording.
I'm not sure if you have access to our network channels - I've never been out of the country so forgive my ignorance - but on Dec 11, at 9 pm EST, There is going to be a program A Motown Christmas - on NBC - Pentatonix will be one of the performers.
Sadly we do not. I always wanted to as a kid, but at that time you needed a sattelite dish to be able to get the signal from the other side of the globe (i think) Maybe nowadays it would be possible with the internet.
Nice reaction I want to buy some coffee, support your recovery and make a request. Do I pay then ask for the song? I clicked on your donate link but not sure how this works.

There is this, the original by The Shirelles and then there is every other version. No other comes close.

I feel like "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" is one of the best, written by the great Carole King (& husband Gerry Goffin).
Soldier boy is a great song by the shirelles

I love this song especially the Smith & Shirelles. Great voice, awesome song , great song writing. Yah 🎉 to 60s music. Woohoo!!!
A great trip back 👍🏻👍🏻
Very cool to hear different versions. The great original inspired the other spins by other amazing groups to it. I love all three. Thank you, man.

You know, the Carpenters have a version!
They do? Thanks for letting me know!
@ It is a track from their second album “Carpenters.” That would be a nice way for you to round out a review of all the versions 🙂

@@deborahvernarelli6394 Well I don't know if I did that right but I did it.
@alexharbison4411 you should get a reply through your email from "buy me a coffee" and Saeed will also respond to you through your email
It's such a great little song, but I tend to favour the Beatles version.....maybe because it was the first one I had heard?
