    One thing I’ve learned living in the USA especially during this pandemic is that education moves to fast in schools and children aren’t learning the fundamentals and basics. Parents all over the world have now learned how behind some students are. Homeschooling allows more family time, individual paces and control of education. I love it!!!

      Carl fisher that’s not true. Her reading has improved leaps and bounds. Every child learns at a different pace. That’s why school systems are failing. They try to pigeon hole every child in their class and then impose self esteem on a child because they are not keeping up with fast learners. I was a fast learner and was always impatient in class because of the time spent on the slow learners. So home school allows a child at their own pace and builds self confidence along the way.

      Unless they didn’t have a school education, then it is probably not too difficult to teach 7 to 10 year olds as they would have learned that in school. Although, It might get harder when they are around 12-15

    • @vthomas372

      @@stefanosdowner8516 I agree with you here, especially in subjects such as chemistry, science and geography. These are difficult subjects that if one is not a good teacher it is quite difficult for kids to comprehend. I remember these subjects were not easy, but who knows parents might decided not to have their kids take these subjects. Coming from the Caribbean I had no choice, I had to take these subjects in school.

    I am an educator and I really believe it is important for children to be with other children their age... I know now because of the pandemic it may not be possible... but their interaction with other children is very important.

    • @familybills2908
      @familybills2908 3 года назад +7

      Agree - interaction in the classroom teaches valuable things that they cannot and will not learn while interacting in a social setting or small activity group. Homeschooling is hard work - I have known many home-schooled students/parents - for all the pros - there are cons and it comes crashing down when they start college, or a job, etc.

    • @bethanyvrooman9698
      @bethanyvrooman9698 3 года назад +34

      As someone who was homeschooled from Kindergarten all the way through high school, I see where you're coming from, but I think your idea that homeschooled kids are unsocialized is a common misconception. My parents put us into whatever team sports we were interested in to teach us how to work together with other kids: soccer, basketball, cheerleading, and so on. We joined homeschool groups (groups consisting of people who homeschool their children) to get together and go on field trips, play games, do community service, and learn new things...all with plenty of other kids with whom to interact. They took us to church where we were in Sunday School in a classroom setting where we learned alongside other kids. They allowed us to do all of the normal things kids do, like having sleepovers with friends, going to birthday parties, and having play dates. Most homeschoolers are not the awkward, unsocialized people that we're thought to be. I assure you that I was perfectly fine going into college and getting a job. When homeschooling is done right, children end up just as well-educated (or possibly even more so) and just as capable in social situations as any other child. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

      @@bethanyvrooman9698 Thank you for your comment Bethany. Most people that judge homeschooling have no clue what they talking about. Kids in school do they all make it ? the answer is most dont .I have been homeschooling my kids for over six years ,the best decision we took God helping us. It's not an easy path n definitely not for the faint hearted .We rely on Gods strength everyday to get through the day .I solely rely on Jesus for my kids path for the future ,I have seen Jesus do it for other homeschoolers n He will do it for us .We dont get alot of support from family ,friends etc ,God has been faithful. My kids have never been to a school setup, though they are so confident. Everywhere we used to take them before the pandemic people can't help but comment ,they mannerism etc .Character is so essential n homeschooling gives that .They join different groups, my daughter at 7years was joining a book club with girls some twice her age .As a mom was amazed of the confidence, she didn't even care of their age but we were blown away how she participated. Thank you

    The British spell yogurt, "yoghurt?" I was spelling with her, then I got thrown off. LOL Great job Ella teaching your children at home! What smart children! What is a cheater? Am I hearing that correctly? Is that a tutor (in America?) When we say cheater, it means something totally different. I am learning too! I am learning British words. Whoo hoo! :-)

    It’s great
    I know what you mean about home school
    Most parents now that they are doing school now know how their children acted in school
    So I hope that when they go back to actual school their respect for teachers would be great and children need to act accordingly to do school work.
    Thank you for sharing

    Ella I still love your hair! You always look so young & beautiful anyway, but such a difference when there's a new "do". Oh, my goodness how much smarter these children are that are homeschooled. Usually they are anyway. Look how smart Rue is!

    My daughter went to traditional school K-6. She homeschooled 7-9. Returned to traditional school 10th grade year. She hated it and wanted to return to homeschool. I told her NO too much flip flopping and losing credits in the process. Covid granted her wishes. She's now a graduating junior as she has enough credits to graduate a year early with a 4.67GPA..

    Great parents home schooling can be a bit challenging. I think the children receive more attention from parents helping them and the atmosphere is less distracting. Tim and Ella keep up the good job!
