Oh yes I recently gained my New Zealand Certificate in horticulture and totally agree with what you say about it being super fascinating when you’re in the hobby, I think because you genuinely truly want to know all their secrets, so we soak up and remember information a lot better! My plant goal is to get my jolly Melanochrysum to throw bigger leaves! All the very best with your studies 😊

Thank you so much. Plant geeks for the win right! It's almost impossible to believe that others don't find it so absorbing.

Love your videos and I just thought I leave some recommendations based on my limited experience thus far
    1) I haven't tried growing anything on planks yet, but bc my humidity is only at about 50% I decided to build lazy moss poles with clear plastic sheets and so far my splendid and melanochrysum have been going crazy and sizing up quite nicely (the poles have filled up with roots and it's super easy to remove the plants and to propagate them)
    2) I use leca and have had great success with it, but I still gave root rot to my plants that weren't grown out in water or semihydro before, so I'm guessing the same applies to pon. Btw, I've seen some youtubers complain about pon bc the store bought one only has particles of the same/similar size, meaning there are less air pockets for your roots to grow in and it can become very compact, so maybe try amending it with perlite or make your own pon 🤷‍♂️
I know you didn't ask for any of these tips and maybe you knew about this already, but I just wanted to share a bit of what has worked for me so far 😇

Yeah I'm very curious about lazy moss poles for my melanochrysum. It's doing alright but it could be better. Thanks for the tip!
I have had a lot of success with transitioning to pon but I use a mix of lechuza and a much courser semi hydro substrate from soil ninja. So it's a chunkier mix and I think that's helping.
Thanks for all the feedback. It's really helpful to share experiences so we can all become better plant parents.
