For the majority of my pyro applications, I'm using my firing system. (COBRA has the ability to run DMX). For smaller bredth complex shows requiring dimming, I usually run an ADJ MyDMX 512ch USB unit). I believe the unit I have is legacy, but just about any USB interface would work the same. I'll run a MIDI output trigger track alongside my SMPTE timecode to cue the unit.
@@Bozie8823 That was my problem last year, I wanted to dim, but limitations didn't allow me. How hard is it to run a MIDI output along with everything else?
@NSteinseifer81 it's not terribly challenging, but the workflow has it's complexities. The routing setup was straightforward enough. Reaper -> Midi cues output to lighting software -> trigger lighting scenes. The biggest hurdle is learning the software and then visualizing along with your pyro as the two elements of the design are segregated (lighting and pyro) . I use Daslight 5. It's a rabbit hole of a topic, but one that might be worth a walkthrough. I'll consider making a video.
@daddymikrut lol no way. I've screwed it up myself. So you're not alone on that bowling team. It's the little nuanced things that get overlooked. Happy Thanksgiving homie!
Just messing… Bozie.. you are awesome!! Thank you for everything you do!
What lighting console are you using to control all your lights?
