Even in a fantasy world, could that work? Surely the lava would be too hot for plants to grow near… so it’d be like green field, with a few tracks of brown or black rocky areas surrounding the Lava River.
I think a mix of the lava base and candy land would be cool, I could imagine some demons of some sort coming out from the depths of hell to corrupt the candy land
The lava was such an interesting and cool concept! I feel like if you had some of the red hot lave spilling out underneath while going towards a small city on a full build, that would look amazing!
This is the closest thing I'll ever see jazza doing cake art... But my god these terrains are AMAZING even if they were short on time . My favorite one is the lava terrain by Dave :)
It would be so cool to do a whole lava gaming board, you could have pools and rivers if lava, volcanos, red hot rocks, and I’m sure you could think up loads more. An idea could be too sculpt little dinosaurs and put them on it aswell
Gotta see a Candy Land game board that would be epic and so much fun , seeing them make little Candy Land people . The story could be so whacky and strange a really insane yet epic escape for the players and the views. All yous guys at table top time are so entertaining and fantastic to watch 🤩
For the road markings cut a mask out of thin plastic or even just paper and use a sponge to do a stencil style application. Of course you can also airbrush, but the sponge gives a bit more worn look even.
Would love to see a lava table or a lava crossed with one of the others! Could be a fun mechanic too where you could risk crossing the partially hardened lava but with a dice roll determining if you fall through.
Candy. Make a full play base out of candy that's fully edible. And the minis are candy so that when you kill your opponent's soldiers you get to eat it. And then one of them steps on a land mine and blows a hole in the ground so you scoop out a chunk of the terrain and eat that too.
I can see it now a wargame of gummy bear knight worm riders vs the Sour patch kids militia fighting over the blue icing oasis in the middle of candy land. Bring the grim darkness of wargaming to Sweet vs Sour!
I have been thinking about this. Surely any mini you can cast in resin you could also cast in chocolate. Do you need a special silicon for that? I need to know if my dream of a rum and raisin Be'lakor, the Dark Master is also a possibility
I can see it now a wargame of gummy bear knight worm riders vs the Sour patch kids militia fighting over the blue icing oasis in the middle of candy land. Bring the grim darkness of wargaming to Sweet vs Sour!
Bases turned out fantastic, and I'm inclined to vote for the icy city scape idea since I've not see it done yet. Kekking at all the votes for Candyland, cause where we live, the place would be overrun with ants and other insects within hours!
The campaign im wanting to make would use all of them 😂😂❤️ It’s pretty much that Wild Magic has taken over the world and changed things randomly but the patrons have protected some towns with bubbles so that’s my way of having some humans and beast folk still in the world 😂
Snow base for when the space bears hit the tabletop. but also the ancient debris on the desert base would work really well with the lava for a pompeii theme, print out some cowering ash/plaster bodies and you've got some extremely dark objective markers.
ide actually un-ironically LOVE to soo candy land, but non-perishable. using non-foods to mimic candies and make a genuinely interesting gaming board that wont just get mouldy and bad in 2 weeks!
Is it too late to vote for the Lava Cake...base? It didn't fit in my pun, but I agree with everyone so far in the comments: some "pahoehoe" lava flows encroaching on the lush countryside would be an excellent visual dynamic, especially if it's a mix of gentle gradients but then the main focal points would have that dramatic border of active red-hot edges of lava spilling straight into unsuspecting flora. There's cool footage out there of slow flows lazily enveloping grass and flowers if anyone feels like capturing living plants mid-roasting!
Did you know PVA glue reacts REALLY well with crackle paints and mediums? Slonber the crackle stuff on a mini base and it dries fairly easily, drop a blob of pva glue and apply the crackle glue when it's still wett and it'll give a great big cracked piece on that spot. It's soooo good.
What looks like a beautiful grass-scape or field, but is really only the tops of tall Mesa-type rock formations. The true playing surface is the maze of caverns and canyons underneath, that are dark, damp, and just may be the link to an underworld…
Just read through the comments and I actually agree with BoXcat. so I wanna just re-iterate it. What about a combination of lava and candy land? Some demonic candy hellscape. Maybe there's a good candy side, then demon candies. The peaceful gummies are being invaded by the brutal jaw breakers!!! Would also be absolutely amazing if you each made a candy-themed army and did a battle report using the gaming table!
I think the Magma theme could be a really cool table design. The lava could tie into the gameplay by restricting movement, but still allowing you to shoot over it. Pair this with a cool volcano with smoke coming out of it, leds lighting the whole thing up. thatd be sweet. Or you could tie it into your heavenly table. iirc that also had a volcano acting as a spawnpoint. Or do both lol
Honestly, I think if you mixed the urban and lava theme that would be epic. Though I’ve seen some very good points with the candy version… it would be an easy video title for the algorithm lol Either way, amazing job guys, I finally started painting mining and making terrains. It’s been a blast!
Jazza, the resin in the molds was a good idea, but you'll want to get yourself a can of Ease Release® 200. Give it a spray in there before you pour the resin in. Also keep in mind UV resin is still resin. You don't want to be handling it without gloves if there is a chance it is uncured.
I don't really like the cake bases for terrain work, they tend to warp a lot. What I have used are similar plywood rounds for things. My most recent ones were quite cheap and simple. Step one was a light sanding around the edges of a 9" round, then I used cereal box card (actually from the side of a larger case of Mountain Dew) to make a mixed thing of interconnected and lined up pools for a marshy ground piece. Put a piece of wax paper ontop with some larger books above that to keep it flat while the card was glued to the wood. Then I took the patching plaster from the dollar store and thinned it a bit with water to work around and smooth it out a bit while adding some texture, then used superglue to add some sand, stones, and a few sterilized twigs before priming and painting. Great marsh pieces that can be placed out
I'll be honest, from the title of this video, I honestly thought they were going to make terrain out of actual cake! As it is, Dave and Jazza are magicians when it comes to this stuff.
If this video gets 20k LIKES we'll make a HUGE WARGAMING TABLE based on the top comment, relating to our project! Leave your suggestions, like this video and peoples' comments, and subscribe to see the madness in future!!
Lava theme encroaching on the grassland with flowers theme ( Lava Base + Lush Country Side)
You have to eat a table-sized cake to do it first
Snow base
LAVA (but less black in in places as it looked too cold)
there all great but my favorite is candy land or lava base
Could you make a lush green field with an epic lava river? That could look cool
Oh hell yeah. That would be pretty fire👌
This is also my vote.
I agree 100%
Even in a fantasy world, could that work? Surely the lava would be too hot for plants to grow near… so it’d be like green field, with a few tracks of brown or black rocky areas surrounding the Lava River.
@@sophiavega3990 eeeey
Lava theme encroaching on the grassland with flowers theme
The flower one looked just as good as the lava one so I definitely agree! That would look beautiful!
Yesss!!!
Agreed that could be cool
Snowy and cityscape combined! I wanna see that
Like Leningrad
Do it!
lots of icy crystals hanging off the buildings
ICE ICE BABY !
Sounds awesome!
Candyland table with chutes and ladders.
Jazza’s desert has a special mystery about it. I’d love to see a full scale build to that theme.
With pyramids and temple ruins
@@mtbboy3960 yeah exactly
I think a mix of the lava base and candy land would be cool, I could imagine some demons of some sort coming out from the depths of hell to corrupt the candy land
The March of the Jawbreakers. Witness the fall of Ciand Loploth!
omg i love this idea. gritty candy land. i feel like that's right up jazza's alley too!
The lava was such an interesting and cool concept! I feel like if you had some of the red hot lave spilling out underneath while going towards a small city on a full build, that would look amazing!
snow for sure

Yes
I wanna see a candy land gaming board made from durable materials.
Full volcanic urban table would be sick, with orange backlighing and real smoke !!
Gotta see a Candy Land game board that would be epic and so much fun , seeing them make little Candy Land people . The story could be so whacky and strange a really insane yet epic escape for the players and the views. All yous guys at table top time are so entertaining and fantastic to watch 🤩
"We turned 500 Pounds of Candy Into a wargaming table", I vote candyland
Seconding Candy Land. Would love to see a horde of Tyranids on it, too.
Candy land! Candy land! Candy land!
If you don’t do candy land I will never forgive you guys
yes
Candyland!
Initially, I was all for the ice terrain... But the world NEEDS a Candyland gaming board!
I have NO clue how to create any of this, but I find your process fascinating and love your creativity! Every little detail is just… wow.
For the road markings cut a mask out of thin plastic or even just paper and use a sponge to do a stencil style application. Of course you can also airbrush, but the sponge gives a bit more worn look even.
The lava base looks amazing. I'd really like to see a whole table done just like that. Thanks for sharing. Your videos are always entertaining.
I finally gave plaster of Paris a shot. I made exposed tree roots with a little wire and gauze dipped in plaster. Super realistic.
Thanks for the idea!! I'll definitely try it :)
So cool! Great to see proffesionals at work! 0:35
Would love to see a lava table or a lava crossed with one of the others! Could be a fun mechanic too where you could risk crossing the partially hardened lava but with a dice roll determining if you fall through.
I love the candyland 😂😂
Ooo! Snowy tundra with a lava river. The contrast between hot and cold would be awesome!!
Candy. Make a full play base out of candy that's fully edible. And the minis are candy so that when you kill your opponent's soldiers you get to eat it. And then one of them steps on a land mine and blows a hole in the ground so you scoop out a chunk of the terrain and eat that too.

@@morganbowker-brown2700 I bet if you spend some time looking up making food safe silicon mold making or casting you could cast the parts.
@@morganbowker-brown2700
Gummies are incredibly easy to make and less melty than chocolate.
Although chocolate is easier to paint.
The lava base and snow base were definitely my first and second favorites, respectively.
Candy land all the way mates!
I can see it now a wargame of gummy bear knight worm riders vs the Sour patch kids militia fighting over the blue icing oasis in the middle of candy land. Bring the grim darkness of wargaming to Sweet vs Sour!
I love the Lush country side. Would love to see what you do with it on a bigger scale.
When Dave started building the candy land piece i couldn't help but smile, as i'm working on a candyland themed stormcast eternal army.
I'm pretty strongly considering adding some candy to my Slaanesh Daemons... Any choice insights or tricks?
It’s table top time! You got to love it!
Bases turned out fantastic, and I'm inclined to vote for the icy city scape idea since I've not see it done yet. Kekking at all the votes for Candyland, cause where we live, the place would be overrun with ants and other insects within hours!
Lavabase - like in a greek Hades scene
All I can think of is you making multi level version using wedding cake pillars
I loved the desert and the lava bases, either of those are my vote
The campaign im wanting to make would use all of them 😂😂❤️
It’s pretty much that Wild Magic has taken over the world and changed things randomly but the patrons have protected some towns with bubbles so that’s my way of having some humans and beast folk still in the world 😂
Both snow and lava look awesome
I'd love either the lava one or the snow they're both amazing ideas
THIS CHANNEL DESERVES MILLIONS OF VIEWS!
BROOO whole Snowy city scape gaming board would be SICKK!!!!
Obviously you have to make a candy land board to play a 40K campaign on! Title?
”Candya Stands!“
Definitely the lava! I’d love to see a completed diorama of a volcanic field in the making.
The ice and lava bases look really impressive.
So many people are asking for real bases but honestly the candy base is something i want more of
Snow base for when the space bears hit the tabletop. but also the ancient debris on the desert base would work really well with the lava for a pompeii theme, print out some cowering ash/plaster bodies and you've got some extremely dark objective markers.
Must admit that a cross between the road and the grassy plains would be a good all-round board.
Lava base!
I'd love to see the desert temple ruins as a full war gaming table, especially since my Egyptology phase has been rekindled
My favorite theme is the asphalt road
Snow base, that would look sick with some yetis clambering over it
Lavabase ☝🏼
Would love to see you make it all out of actual cakes and edible supplies. 😬😜
ide actually un-ironically LOVE to soo candy land, but non-perishable. using non-foods to mimic candies and make a genuinely interesting gaming board that wont just get mouldy and bad in 2 weeks!
Jazza: "I started off with the most vanilla base possible..."
Me: I see what you did there 😉
I'd like to see a full varied snow terrain with a second attempt at using big crazy resin ice.
lava and snow are my favorites
For sure the city, would be a really cool one, for like a hive city or even a normal town, even
Candy gaming board no doubt
Lol seriously loved the use of the the liquorice allsorts!
I think lava combined with any of the other biomes would be awesome :)
Is it too late to vote for the Lava Cake...base?

Candyland... Is there any question? Basing the Imperial Guard with candylandish terrain is just awesome!!
The desert would look awesome in a Mediterranean esc kind of board, reminded me of assassins creed odyssey’s take on Greece
Jazza be getting THIC - Jazza 2021
Lush Countryside is actually beautiful, please build more.
Something with the lava that was pretty cool
I love the effort on these.
snow themed game board all day
I'd love to see a Lava themed board like Mustafar from Star Wars.
It'd actually be really neat to play Star Wars: Legion on.
The lava one would be a cool board to see, especially if you could somehow create volcanos that look like they're actively spewing lava

City scape. I love apocalyptic game boards. But seeing a battle in a setting with lava would be very cool
All of these on one board would look interesting
Please you have to do snow city scape!
Wargaming tables? The desert one but it has craters and a mountain range somewhere
the lava one would be Awesome!!

Lava.
Also ger a 2000 wat nail gel if lamp for the UV resin. 2 min max dry time and you don't have to hold it!

Candyland gaming board, yes. Do the Candyland one. It also fits in with the idea of sweets and all the cake you didn't really eat all of(I hope).
Lava theme would be amazing.

Though I’ve seen some very good points with the candy version… it would be an easy video title for the algorithm lol

ok hear me out, a gaming table with all the different terrains intertwined through rifts or portals or something :)
I want to see you guys make a battlefield full of terrain structures made from Lincoln Logs.
I would love to see some minis in between missions. Gambling, drinking, sleeping, a snowball fight and so on.
That advertisement transition was smooth
I'd love the lava one as a full board.
I'll be honest, from the title of this video, I honestly thought they were going to make terrain out of actual cake! As it is, Dave and Jazza are magicians when it comes to this stuff.
Lava and Desert scenes together!!!
The lava base, definitely the lava base.🥰
You should go for the cityscape but lean much further into the overgrown abandoned city sort of look
