I've been playing magic for many years now, and this is such a lovely approach! I always thought that the rules could be a bit daunting at first, but in my experience, it isn't all that bad if you go bit by bit, and the end result is a very satisfying, exciting, and rewarding game! It's so great to see how the newer sets are bringing more people in. Thanks for contributing to that and making things less overwhelming for new players!
A great start for a great journey! Sharing the hobby you are passionate about with more people and making it easier for new players to get into the grove of the game at the same time is a fantastic thing to do. so, keep it up, Fuku! Can't wait to see what you've got in sore for us.
Thank you Ev1em!! I'm excited to be starting this new chapter in my content creation journey with you all (and hopefully convince more VTuber fans to pick up Magic >v< )
Probably more a topic for later, but what is your opinion on Universes Beyond sets? Personally as someone who started playing after getting some cards last Christmas and started collecting for new decks this year I have loved the UB sets because they give a little flavor to something that I consider for the most part generic fantasy. Not to shit on MTG's story or major characters, but from an outsider who doesn't have years and years of knowing "the story" I don't see a reason to care, but just have to endure every MTG content creator yelling at me and blaming people of my mindset for why they don't like the outlook of the sets coming in 2025. When I just see it as "a card game I like".
I'll definitely touch on UB in a future video, as I believe it's a main factor contributing to the rise in interest in MtG as of last year. But, to give you a brief answer, I think UB sets add some great flavour to the game while also providing an anchor of relatability for new players! It's cool to see how your favourite characters are interpreted in a game outside their traditional medium :D
please i am begging you to reconsider teaching magic through the lens of commander while it is the most popular way to play it is not a very good way to learn i wish i didn't learn the game through commander because it very much hurt my enjoyment, at least initially i also feel this video contains a related misconception magic's learning curve is steeper than most other games true, but it is only a 90 degree brick wall if you learn through commander (because of how complicated the format is) often commanders casual nature is mistaken for simplicity or ease and this leads many into the trap of learning or teaching through commander please reconsider (P.S. also note that it is easier to convert a 60 card 1v1 player to a commander player than the other way around)

I am not at all surprised that you were charmed by the image of the greatest miniature giant space hamster

i wish i didn't learn the game through commander because it very much hurt my enjoyment, at least initially
i also feel this video contains a related misconception
magic's learning curve is steeper than most other games true, but it is only a 90 degree brick wall if you learn through commander (because of how complicated the format is)
often commanders casual nature is mistaken for simplicity or ease and this leads many into the trap of learning or teaching through commander
please reconsider
