thank you dear we came to know some typical Kashmiri words we never had heard,a beautiful narration and superb efforts to become a bridge between us Kashmiris and our cultural and spiritual heritage ,blessed soul
P.N.Raina. 25-11-2020. 1.Shri Sajid Majid has presented the general version of Knowledge already in public memory of Kashmiri people about Ma Lullaishwari. It is a good and heartening step to acquaint people with our rich culture. 2. He has used words giving an opposite meaning like Hond as bull. Hond means a ram meant for breeding purposes. According to Sanskrit shabdhakosh(dictionary) by V.S.Apte, Kamal Prakashan 15-2-1890 at page1268, Hond-masculine - meda ( ram), lion, Shukra. To understand Lullaishwari one must be extremely well conversant in Kashmiri language which is gravid and full of idioms and phrases . ‘Hond maritan ya kath’ was used by her as a symbol of feast, and should not be taken literally, like ‘Nangy natchun’, nang yini, aayai dandras gaiy kandras etc. 3. She was a both a saint of high order and a poet and fully conversant of the environment around her, and made people conversant of Kashmir Shavism in a simple local language in the form of vakhs as such memorizing them and singing the vakhs with reverence. 4. She was not buried nor burnt either as per her vakh ‘sadeh zeevan mukhti praevem. Lull vakh 101 from the book ‘Parag’-Lullvakh 2013, by P.N.Raina, Utpal publishers, Delhi ( Parag is a detailed research work book on Lull vakh in devnagri script). She spent her last days at Bijbihara in a hut still there, She would show her face to her lovers sitting on a window called ‘ Darshan daer’. A huge masjid was later constructed on its side which was seen dismantled in the morning, a saint named Shanker put his axe in the door called ‘Shankerin Makch’ or ‘Shankers axe’ and the construction was completed. A chadar which covered her mortal remains was removed there were only some flowers were seen. Muslims and Hindus distributed them to burry and burn according to their faith just like legend regarding Ma Roopbhavani and Sant Kabir. 5. Her vakhs were compiled by herself as she was a highly educated woman saint. But her literature met the same fate of burial like other precious literature of Kashmir by the cruel hands of alien forces on work till date. 6. There was nothing like unity among hindus and musalman as referred in the vakh ‘Mo Zan hindu-musalman’. This vakh does not belong to her as the word Hindu was not prevalent in those days among Kashmiri Pandits not even now. Instead She encouraged them to stick to their own Dharma and also die in it and not get lured to satisfy your desires leaving your faith. “Ha tcheta kava loguy permas -vash kornakh pardharamas---Vakh 86 ‘Parag’.“ Thank you Sajid.
Thank you Sir very well explained, you are a great teacher You are great KASHMIRI teacher Students must lucky. Very clear all doubts clear nothing mixed with mythical.
Amazing and captivating presentation! There are indeed a few questions as to why she was never mentioned ever in literary listings of Kashmiri scholars!! We've heard all other names but her!!!
Aapke vani itni meethi hai Yeh lallded ki kahani jo ki ek bahut badi saint or darvesh jitni meethi hai aapke vani se bahut hi meethi banayi Good explanation thanku shivbab blessu

Superb, but somehow there is an correction, it is said that Sheikh ul Alam was among his deiples, knowing the fact that when he was born he was not feeding from his mothers breast and she went to Lal ded to help, It is said when Lal ded took him on his lapse and loudly chanted YELI ZENAS MAND CHUK NE CHENEAH KTH CHUK MAND CHAN....
Thank you for this. I am looking for a poem by Lalla called Jasmine Garden. Can some one please tell me or copy a link where it's written in urdu / or perso-arabic text? thanks
Yes sir; She's still laid to rest in Bijbehara Anantnag...... besides Jamia Masjid but the saying is her body got sublimed into something called as "touk" and that very touq is buried here.....The saying goes they were playing hide n seek along with some great personality perhaps; Syed Qureshi who's also buried in separate burial. I personally saw that grave in my childhood as now people say men aren't allowed. It's a Aasthan now.
