Funfact: Apparently Santorini ( Ancient Thera ) has been often connected with Atlantis due to a volcanic eruption that caused a tsunami in the region. So it makes sense the game developers hid the gate to Atlantis on Thera.

The Santorini eruption didn't just cause tsunamis, it caused the complete collapse of civilization in the Mediterranean for a couple hundred years. Its effects were actually written about in primary source documents as far east as eastern India and China. It was a huge event to say the least. 😊

@@TheNeonParadoxi dont think the santorini eruption caused the bronze age collapse, but the extent of its destruction/consequences of are still being studied. it did cause a volcanic winter though!

@@misti-step Well, nobody thinks the eruption happened, then the next day civilization vanished in the region. I didn't mean it to come off like that. However, its eruption caused almost immediate instability in the region, namely because of the effects of its fallout on the Minoan civilization, Then further resource scarcity provoked wars in the region, which coincided with invasions from the north on the mainland, likely over resources. It's pretty widely believed among scholars that it was the primary catalyst of a 400 year decline that took a sharp drop-off between 1200-1150 BCE. But yeah, there's still a lot we don't know.

And because Thera literally means "gate" in Greek.

And actually he wasn`t even a mathematician. The AC Story is so underrated, sometimes the plot and the background to the plot is often overlooked.

Sad to see that the theorem is the only thing Pythagoras is remembered for in our times. He basically kickstarted the Greek philosophy and sciences that we know about.

Although most historians believe Plato made Atlantis TF up as an allegory for hubris, if it was based on anything factual it would be the volcanic eruption that destroyed the island of Thera (modern Santorini) which was one of the catalysts for the Bronze Age Collapse ca. 1400 BCE.
