The whisper in Kenny's ear was the best part of the match because MJF knows he just got omegas blessing as one of the greatest of all time before MJFs career is done with.
Agreed. I loved them havin a little moment at the end. What a match. Surely there's gotta be a rematch down the line.
Reminded me Austin/Rock 3 at mania. Austin was leaving the business first and knew that Rock put him over twice at mania. Austin jobbed and Rock said thank u and I love you. Austin said it back. Both were leaving the business for good but ended their rivalry perfectly. MJF getting the r respect from Omega mirrored that. Omega & MJF are freaking legends.

They are clearly trying to make him win Wrestler of the Year 2023. Though, all these big matches feel rushed to me.
Feel like they’re building to perhaps a having some sort of elimination chamber type match for MJF. So many challengers.

What a fantastic title match this was. Both MJF and Kenny Omega brought their A game and absolutely delivered in the main event. Hopefully they have a rematch in the near future and looks like MJF is going to become the longest reigning AEW World Champion of all time by breaking the record.

It also elevates the world championship. It's the most important title in the Men's division, so the entire locker room *should* be gunning for it at the same time. The story involving the world championship shouldn't involve any of this "contender of the week" crap like the TNT and TBS titles.

This brings prestige to AEW world Championship. Most of the other champions have been world champion outside AEW, but MJF is a pure AEW product, so naturally the company needs to be centered around him. Amazing Face, extraordinary Heal, amazing in ring talent. This will be a historical reign. Feels Like mjf is the only legitimate successor to Roman's seat, MJF has risen himself with the grace of the people, true people's champion. However if anyone had to take the time off MJF it has to be Kenny, he is equally important to AEW. I feel the company should revolve max and Kenny and danielson as the Sr figure. danielson the past, Kenny the present and max the future of wrestling.
FACTS
Danielson will never be the past because for one, he isn't retired yet and for two, he continues to deliver in the present even while not being 100%. Both Bryan and Kenny are All-Time greats in the business and should be respected as such.
He's very old school in the ring compared to other indie style... This helps his character allot...

Kenny selling the Panama Sunrise and the heat seeker is top tier taking of a move.
Also love the super kick spot. Nice little nods to Adam Cole and his relationship between the two even though he's not there at the moment. Also love seeing all the people in the web of the MJF and to a lesser extent Kenny and them all just waiting and watching for their turn. It's a nice easy way to build up those moments and remind people that there are guys in line and waiting in the wings to take their shot.
Felt like a PPV match, loved it.
Also definitely looking forward to MJF vs Wardlow whenever that happens.
AEW sure delivers a lot of PPV style matches during AEW Dynamite, Collision, and sometimes for Rampage. It is risky when the wrestler has a match in the next episode or PPV.
This match was even better than expected and seeing it in person makes it even more special

The ending bit is pretty similiar to some anime/series pilot episode ending where they showed the "villains" and the "obstacles" that our main character is about to encounter in his journey. Everybody is gunning on MJF. The champ has a big target on his back. Good stuff.

Collision has the absolute best announce team going.
Amazing match and the ending sequence was incredible. This match could have easily main evented a PPV but we got it for free on a random Saturday night. Hats off of everyone involved

Kenny Omega put him over clean, that's pretty amazing, that's pretty big of him. I knew MJF would win, because they're trying to build him up, but wow. They're really trying to legitimise him, by cleanly putting him right on top.

But you've missed the bigger picture, Kenny didn't land a finisher. If the tables were turned Kenny wouldnt allow him to kick out of that.

This was the best Collision main event & it had a purpose of existing MJF is now the longest AEW World Champion congratulations to him & what a year he has had he 26 & the pedigree of matches from him has been of the charts another all time classic match from & Omega do we need to discuss about his resume.
Classic match. Great year for AEW, we had Danielson vs ZSJ / OC vs Mox / Danielson vs MJF / Four Pillars match / Garcia vs Yuta trilogy / Garcia vs Shibata / Omega vs Ospreay / Omega vs Takeshita etc.

@@CommanderLost Yuta is a well defined character. We got to watch full continuity of how he became such a heel. Started as humble student, turned into a young prodigy, showed how much of a charisma vacuum he is, then after seeing guys who are better on Mic get more attention he showed how Childsih/Jealous he is, while the last bit when he faced MJF on mic he came off as Self-Righteous. And all of this was on his peak run as a Bland Baby Face. Then we got his self-righteous a*s facing a typical scum like Garcia. Who as well, shown that he is great at technical wrestling/ mirroring the talent of Yuta. They had entire trilogy, where in the end the Heel Garcia, while staying stubborn and disrespectful came out as a Face winner. The feud incorporated BCC Danielson and Mox, and Best Friends Orange Cassidy with Shibata. Yuta got overconfident and got smacked by Shibata, while in his match with OC he just got beaten in both OC style and BCC style. While Garcia came out short against OC and Shibata, he at least earned their both respect.
So many details in this storyline not mentioned, as it would bring too long of a comment. Garcia dancing while getting choked out by Shibata, versus Wheeler Yuta starting to cheat in order to beat Orange Cassidy. Go check out Yuta vs Garcia trilogy, it was for RoH Pure Championship. Underrated for sure

Crazy to think that they gave this match away for FREE on television on their 2nd/maybe 3rd biggest weekly show.
When you look at the AEW roster, MJF and Omega are possibly the 2 biggest names that they have and this was a PPV worthy main event.
Punk being kicked out of AEW really does have TK trying everything to save Collision and fill that Punk void that was a major attraction for that show.
What a banger of a match! Great chemistry between these two and trust. You know MJF was thanking Omega for that match too! And the added drama of everyone gunning for the champ is great storytelling. Seeing a tear run down Samoa Joe’s cheek was an usual icing to the cake. MJF is HIM!

Not sure I would've had this match on free TV, but I'm glad they did! Wow.
Sometimes you have to give out a free sample to get people to buy the product, literally. It also is a contract year so AEW should do this as they need their tv contract extended at least 2x to 3x times their current deal. PPV and tv are their two most important money makers more than even that gate in those arenas are.

They’re trying to get collision over, kenny vs max wasn’t going to happen during this reign as kenny is busy elsewhere and max has numerous opponents already set up, kenny doesn’t have much time left so who knows if he’d even make it to Max’s second reign anywhere near the condition he is now and there’s an easy storyline with the streak which they can’t just magically add a month and a half to bringing it to the ppv.
AEW have been criticised for putting off big matches and ultimately ending in them never happening, so I think it’s safe to say doing it once isn’t gonna suddenly put them in WCW territory

This was AEW’s 2023 Match Of The Year. If there was any question at all who the 2 best pro wrestlers in the world are, the 2 men just answered every question. Thank you for not having this be on PPV. Thank you for giving us a definitive winner. A match made for a Revolution PPV that happened LIVE on TNT. Thank you for this honor. What a damn match. My favorite match I’ve watched THIS year. Congratulations to both men on producing what a Championship Match is supposed to look like and congratulations again to Max for breaking the record and also for winning. Get some rest, guys. This was a great match, and I am so hoping in 2024 after MJF is still signed and champion, the man walking down that ramp to challenge him is Will Ospreay.
I hated MJF. But as much as it doesnt matter to him. He has earned all my respect. He is an impressive and valuable asset in professional wrestling. Absolute Gem of a talent
I still can’t believe that a face MJF actually works. I always knew he was excellent in the ring but that handshake with Kenny really surprised me
MJF is what Flair and Austin used to be. Whether they were heels or faces, the fans were on their side. He has that charisma to go along with the in-ring talent.
I think about this match often. It's the greatest match of all-time in my eyes.

I think the first decent and cleanest match I've ever seen watching MJF wrestle.

Was worried they were going go for the distraction finish or roll up and make MJF look weak but having him beat Omega clean was a great decision and makes him look strong
