David Woodhead For nearly 70 years I've been amazed by the artistry of Duerer (sorry, can't do umlauts on my machine!). Well worthwhile visiting his house in Nuremberg, even though it is (of course) a reconstruction. Much looking forward to this exhibition.

Thanks a lot. I’m relatively new to art/paintings. I live close to Nuremberg but have never really paid much attention to Dürer. I even wondered (till I saw your movie) whether he’s an internationally renowned artist. Well, he quite obviously seems to be. Very interesting.
Stefan, please do go see his works up close. Whenever his works travel, they are a draw for museums. People hear about his works coming to town and put it on their calendars as a must see! For art lovers, he's a modern day rockstar!
I did not take my first art history class (near Wash DC, USA) until my 50s and learned of Durer. I later went to his home/museum in Nuremberg and I seeked his art in Paris. I asked a docent in the Louvre where I could find the self portrait and he said the display was closed. I looked anyway and found it - it was not closed! Thank you for teaching me more!
Apologies you had difficulty hearing the audio, we'll keep this feedback in mind going forward. In the meantime please feel free to turn on the video subtitles.

National Gallery videos are great but the music on this is abysmal. Please, stop distracting us with "music" that has nothing at all to do with the artist.
This man is related to me, he's my grandma's great great great great... (continues) grandfather, my mom told me about him so now I'm hyperfixating on him lmfao
We have longer videos that go into Dürer's work in more detail here on our website: www.nationalgallery.org.uk/exhibitions/durers-journeys-travels-of-a-renaissance-artist
Thank you National Gallery for the exhibitions like this and for making RUclips an interesting place.
Glad you're enjoy them, Vashik!
Thankyou very much !
I still have the copy of his study of a Hare, which adorned my bedroom wall as a child. He was, without doubt, a fantastic talent.

Thank you for your information.
Talk about a balanced review...but I do agree, stunning work. From age 13 you could see it was a natural talent he had.

I ask myself that every day. "Why has God given me such great talent?"
One of the greatest artists ever.
I heard he had also had a successful car hire service and had been a deputy sheriff of Dodge City for a while.
I cannot wait to get to the Durer exhibition at the National Gallery! I'm in love with the Hare :)
Just… sooo good
I have heard very little about him and this video is everything I wanted

God I wish I could see this…
Durer is up there with da Vinci.
He knew him
I had to give up on this. The background music is so loud and my hearing is no longer good enough to hear the commentary over it.

He had mad skills but I think his brush was sprinkled with fairy dust.
3:12 What, he dreamt of the atomic bomb? 😮
I saw a charcoal picture when I.closed my eyes not sure who the woman is
Only five + minutes!
