IIRC I sent in for a transcript of _Pat and Kenny Read Oprah Transcripts_ once and never got one. They never announced the winner of "I want a ride in Al Norwood's New Car," which I entered, either.
"Thank you" (with the deep voice of the celebrity guest) And section of the video could end with that, in my opinion. Thank you, Don, a huge and dedicated work!!!
Don, could you please upload the magic moment when quarterback Vinny Testaverde was schooled by the late, great Jay Thomas at the first Quarterback Challenge? Another great moment in Letterman history. I believe the year was 1998.
It would have been awesome if one time, after Dave introduced the bit Pat would say something like "Um, Dave? Kenny's not here." Dave: Well we spent all that time to set up and nobody told me? Pat: Um, well I do have someone else who can fill in if it's OK. Dave: What do you think Paul? Paul: You buy the premise, you buy the bit. I say go ahead. Dave: Paul says to go ahead. I'm not sure but Paul says to do it. I wash my hands of the whole matter. Pat: _[to someone on the other side of the door]_ Dave says it's OK. _[The real Oprah comes out] [presumably, cheers and applause]_ Pat as Oprah: Woo-hoo. Woo-hoo. I'd like to introduce my next guest, you all know him, welcome Jay Leno. Oprah as Kenny as Jay: Thank you Oprah. _[Pat and Oprah as Kenny do that awkward bow and leave]_
I think Dave always referred to Oprah having a beef with him or the show. If that was a real thing, I wonder if these bits were the cause or contributed to it, her feeling he was mocking her.
She felt very uncomfortable during their interview on Late Night back in '89; that was the main reason. Also, I think there had been a joke or two about her weight in the nineties that rubbed her the wrong way.
I love this. I love Dave. I was born in Indianapolis in 1971, so I've been watching Dave live on T.V. since his very first job as a local news weatherman. All that to say no disrespect, but PLEASE edit this so you just have one clip of Dave explaining the premise, and then just get to the "meat" of this sketch: Kenny and Pat reading the transcripts. Literally watching Dave doing the exact same lead-in, and that godawful theme song a hundred times during a two-hour video makes a this compilation almost impossible to watch.
@@dongiller Ha. I hear you! I'm sure that would take up a lot of time, now that you mention it. I'm just glad you took the time you did. You're doing God's work, sir.
The dedication of re-creating the Oprah intro. ❤
It's the little things. Having the camera on Pat & Kenny as they exit--genius.
Thanks, Don. I got a job starting at 3 am and missed Dave and Paul's last ten years. Your contributions to RUclips are greatly appreciated. 👍
(in Kenny Sheehan’s voice) Thank you, Don.
Pat and Kenny really captured the essence of Oprah and her celebrity guests! Spot on reenactments.
I am so glad this collection is available here on RUclips. Thank you for sharing it! 😊
Don, thank you so much!! This was one of Dave's best bits EVER. There is no off on the genius switch, thank God.
One of my all time favorite Late Show bits! Don Giller strikes again. Thanks for your hard work, comrade.
A nostalgia trip I never knew I needed. Thank you, Don!
IIRC I sent in for a transcript of _Pat and Kenny Read Oprah Transcripts_ once and never got one. They never announced the winner of "I want a ride in Al Norwood's New Car," which I entered, either.
Can we file suit? 😅
Never have I favorited a video faster.
"And Oprah has that..what is he, Brother Phil?" lol. Nobody was ever better at vicious sarcasm than our boy Dave.
Kenny saying Thank you Oprah is easily top 5 funniest things I’ve ever heard in my life
You go girl
Brilliant. Just damn brilliant. Don, like another guy said, you are definitely the man!
Or, more accurately, “Of all the You Tube channels out there, this is one of them.”
Thanks, Don. I got a job starting at 3 am and missed Dave and Paul's last ten years. Your contributions to RUclips are greatly appreciated. 👍
As Oprah said, “You go, girl!”
THESE WERE GENIUS, CHEERS SIR DON
1:17:32 I love the part where they both start cracking up. This was always my one my favorites.
Uncanny. It’s just like watching the Oprah show.
Woohoo. Yee-haw. You go, girl.
Yeah.
I may or may not love you for uploading this.
PAKROT was one of the best parts of Letterman ever.
These are amazing lol 😂 thanks for uploading them
Pat & Kenny singing their own theme song always impressed me, they sounded great together honestly.
Oprah opening remake, writing in for a transcript of a transcript & satirizing O magazine with an issue of PK is genius.
And Dave wondered why Oprah didn't go to his show for 16 years...
She can't laugh?
Dave trolling Oprah before anyone knew what trolling was.
Thanks again Don
It must have taken you a lot of trouble to find the clips across so many different episodes, then edit and put them all together. Thank you!
Thanks! This is one of over 100 collections I've put together. All of them a pain. :)
And more to come!
Don Giller you masochist! 😎
@@dongiller Amazing, Don!
I love Kenny's monotone voice.
Catching the odd Oprah Show was always a treat for me. But, I'd never miss a single brother Phil broadcast. Woohoo!
Great upload and great channel!!
I met Pat in 2013. Congrats on the retirement.
This was always one of the funniest running bits on the show to me.
RIP Kenny...
I know. I was saddened to read of his passing in '20.
So stupid...yet so damn hilarious!!! Definitely worth watching!!!
Timeless brilliance
I would have bought the Pat and Kenny magazine in a heartbeat.
The golden age of tv,
Absolute genius. Using Oprah transcripts to show how ridiculous the show is.
1:06:51... perhaps Dave's finest sing along w/transition music
RIP, Kenny.
"Thank you" (with the deep voice of the celebrity guest)
And section of the video could end with that, in my opinion.
Thank you, Don, a huge and dedicated work!!!
The real joke is that Pat and Kenny never once took turns being Oprah.
10:25 - Kenny nearly broke. 😂
1:50:43 Kenny's look towards Pat always slays me.
Dave loved roasting phonies, brother Phil cracked me up.
Haha every one is introduced with "in this transcript, Oprah welcomes a celebrity guest!"
Did I hear the band playing "I Know the Pieces Fit" by Tool @1:15:35 ?
I never was a big fan of latter Dave, so I have not ever seen these. These were very funny!
Perfect
Gold.
Satire at its best!
woohoo, girl. woohah.
You Go Girl !

Yep - December 30, 1998.
In time.
@@dongiller incredible
I forgot how epic the top 10 list used to be.
Did anybody here actually write in for the transcript of Pat and Kenny ready Oprah transcripts?
I did, never got one.
RIP Kenny

You took the time to write that crap?
1:51:08 Wonder what the transcript read there. "M-m-m. Mm. Mm. M-m-m. Mm mm mm. Mmm. M-m-m"?
8:58 kenny sounds like Sylvester stallone
But who’s going to read transcripts of last night’s episode of Dave’s show? Stedman?
Did they have to join SAG for these bits?
I suspect they do.
This is why Letterman was the best!
"WooHoo" HAHAHAHA!
After two hours, the phrase, 'oprahtranscripts' sounds like an alien language.
Don, any idea why #26 and #28 used the same transcript?
Does anyone have pictures of the transcript of pat & kenny read Oprah transcripts? I would die to see one lmao
Is the 'PK' magazine still in circulation?
Not since Kenny passed away.
@@dongiller R.I.P. Kenny. Hope you brought lots of transcripts to share with your friends up there :)
I think Dave always referred to Oprah having a beef with him or the show. If that was a real thing, I wonder if these bits were the cause or contributed to it, her feeling he was mocking her.

I have a feeling some of these aren't actual Oprah transcripts...
Every one of them is an actual Oprah transcript.
Whoa. Woo-hah.
I can see that because it sounds to ridiculous but it's true.
Do you have Pat Farmer dropping a basketball off the roof and making the basket?
Yes; it’s currently in a Unlisted compilation I made for Pat when he retired.
They should have edited out the Dave part. Becomes repetitive
“They” is one person. Context is everything.

You can't figure out how to use the right arrow button so he should recut the entire video. Ooookay...
