    In relation to case sizes, Carrera is available in 41mm (Calibre 16 aka 7750), 42mm (Heuer 02), 43mm (7750/Heuer 01/02), 44mm (Heuer 02) and finally 45mm (Heuer 01/02). The 43mm and 45mm models are discontinued to the best of my knowledge. Heuer 01 is an inhouse movement with about 50 hours power reserve, while 02 is the latest iteration of that movement with an 80 hour power reserve. Thanks for the review Rob

    I was my Cousins best man at his wedding, in 1999. All of the groomsmen got Tag Heuer Professional watches, I however got the Carerra, in the highest model available at the time. 20+ years later, it still looks like a million bucks.

    Great review Rob! That is the first Tag Heuer to catch my interest in a long time. I doubt I could ever buy it, unless it was a preowned watch.

    My boss has the Carrera with the blue dial. It is a pretty awesome watch! While I'm personally not a huge Chronograph fan, it's very impressive. I'm not sure why Huer gets so many noses are turned up at them. My wife gifted me the Aquaracer for our anniversary and I absolutely love it!
    Great video Rob!

    in the luxury watch world, I personally think Tag is the most affordable ones not to mention, their designs are gorgeous... yes it's not Omega or Rolex, but look at the price and you'll think Tag is even too cheap (even though it's expensive already). so yes, I love TAG HEUER

    It’s so strange how something can become over exposed. It’s like tag heuer has become too much of a house hold name for watch nerds to appreciate. I’ve never held a tag in my hand but before someone decides if a watch is worth 1500 or 5000 you kind of need to touch it and look at it really closely. I mean the differences between expensive watches are very subtle. very minor finishing details. the way pins fit together. the feel of the crown. But when a lot of people hear tag it’s like “nope”. The watch doesn’t even get a chance.

      People have no idea that Tag Heuer actually makes most of their cases in house (also the cases for Zenith and Hublot). I own a Carrera and it's one of my favourite watches of all time. But, because of the relative "undesirability" of them, buy one used.

    The calibre 16 is a modified Valjoux 7750. The model you're showing is discontinued, but still available on the gray market. The new TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph uses an in-house movement. They cost close to $6000.

    I find it really odd that there is only a 30 minute counter instead of a 60 minute counter especially since there is also a 12 hour counter so obviously it can measure elapsed time longer than 30 minutes. Maybe the 12 hour counter moves in 1/2 hour increments so you know whether your measured minutes is 0-30 or 31-60?

    The movement is an ETA on the calibre 16. Also this is the 43mm version which became extinct for the now 44mm. It’s a much better size at 43mm.

    • @garytopley12
      @garytopley12 3 года назад +4

      That is the issue they have, they are really good watches, especially the 02 models, but most enthusiasts will lean towards Omega, Tudor or Breitling in this price range. Priced 1K lower and they'd potentially tempt people to lean towards them as opposed to the other brands they're competing with.

    • @chelious1973
      @chelious1973 3 года назад +7

      @@garytopley12. I wouldnt put Tudor in the same class as Omega or Brietling. The new Carreras with the 02 and the Autivia heritage with the 02 are really impressive watches. The $5000 is retail, not used or grey market. Grey market and used they are a good buy. Retail no. The reference in the video is a older model.
