I was told in no uncertain terms to stop practicing this with my JROTC platoon because there "Ain't no way,no how you're going to walk away from doing that routine, mister."

THAT says a lot about this Platoon! They finished their training on their own. It takes a crack unit, with 100% dedication to the task at hand, to be able to do that!
Lots of folks will never know just how much training this scene took. The M-1 is 9 pounds of heavy weight and to do this in precision takes a lot of work. Brings back memories of my drill team time. Love the M-1 ...my favorite weapon!

I survived Army Basic at Ft, MacLellan in 1977, not much different. The Army taught me to appreciate the Coast Guard. Retired 21 years total service.
I started U.S. Army Basic Combat Training there in July of 1980.
