I recognize that this video is quite old but as of 2023, I suggest a selective etch protocol with deeply prepared class II's - a self-etching primer applied to the dentin will improve resin-dentin interaction and long term bonding while also substantially reduce post-op sensitivity.
Hi, Thanks for your video. It's too bad you didn't show how you created your marginal ridge and instead jumped from 3:53 to 3:55. Do you have any videos that show this critical step? Also, is the carbide bur you're using for a high speed or slow speed drill?
Pretty sure I had this done yesterday - I cracked one of my premolars down the side and it crumbled out, so they did the filling this way. It's the first time that i'm aware they used the metal thing/fence and I'm guessing its due to where it needed to be filled. All other fillings i had were in the middle/top of the tooth. Teeth damage from night bruxism ever since I was little and I'm 31 now.
My dentist left the clinic after drilling and had the dental hygienist do the filling as she went on an errand. The assistant added a ton of resin and then had to shave a lot off with an electric tool because my teeth were not resting on the opposing side. I don’t have any grooves now and I cannot chew with that side of my mouth without an intense electrical pain. It’s not sensitive to hot or cold, strictly pressure when eating. I’m worried because the dentist didn’t check her work because the dentist had left.
Doesn't the football bur damage cuspids due to how big it is and touches cuspids too much? Wouldn't the chrismas tree be more adapted for structuring occlusal surface ?
Great video. Thanks for sharing beautiful restoration

Wish you would post more videos of your current office now

Sweet...
Are you concerned with poly shrinkage when filling the occlusal portion in one go?
2mm increments and you'll be fine
Great

Do you mean cusps?
Cuspids are canines. ?? I don’t think that’s what you meant.
Does it hurt when they placed a matrix
No they are numb?
I have a small mouth with crowded teeth. I could feel a great deal of pressure but not pain.
@@fortunesa83 ok
I felt pressure and a pinching sensation, but no pain due to local anaesthesia.
but I reckon it would definitely hurt without it
What is the white material you applied at 7:15?
Pomus
Have had this done 4 times, as someone horrified of dentists this is nothing in comparison to an extraction. Just fucking get it done.
Yep. I didn’t feel a thing.
But…why are you horrified of dentists?
@@dr.apollo4226 because I don't like people fucking with my teeth. Needles, drills, pain and discomfort.
@@feartheoldblood its a necessity, better this than losing your natural tooth and ending up with a bridge
@@feartheoldblood I can understand that, very common. A bit overwhelming. Good on ya so much for going to the dentist though!
What type of explorer is in this video?
A curly one!
