She makes it sound so easy yet i cannot submerge my head as the water DOES go in your ears and nose! Its a horrible sensation. Thats why i cannot swim at all
I was terrified and could only be able to dive on 75cm deep. Im about 150cm double that. I had a float a teacher with me and i was still terrified because of my stupid adhd. I managed to do it but only under the hair but this helped so much very very thank youuuu! This happened today
Before swim class in grade five we were given a paper that said to get use to having your head in water by holding ones breath and immersing the face in a sink partially filled with water. Then it said to open the eyes while under water as the next step. When I did this I got a stiffy. Must have been some kind of power thing.
Hey! This video was really helpful! I kind of know how to put my head underwater but I can’t let go of my nose since I have a fear of the water entering my body through there, do you have any other tips? Thank you.
I know this was a year ago, I hope you've improved since then! For anyone here more recently, I'll answer your question: breathe air out your nose slowly when submerged, and this prevents water from going into your nostrils. A constant, slow stream of air out the nose will keep all water from going up, as long as you keep the air flowing and never breathe in under the water.
I am aquaphobic since my older sister tried to drown me during the swimming lesson in the public pool - I was about six. But! When I was about three, I was able to jump into the deep and submerge my head (my parents were helping me, and I remember I was laughing and happy). It happened many many years ago. After this drowning experience, I have been aquaphobic, and even wind-phobic! I can ‘t stand the strong wind touching my face and I start to choke. I can swim, but only when my head is over the water, and I can’t jump into the water and dive. So sad.
After 48 years , I decided to learn how to swim now Lol

Why would the water sting our eyes in swimming pool
Because of the chlorine and chemicals added to the water to minimise the presence of bacteria!
