  • A dear friend (now identified) anonymously mailed Todd a set of Pilestone red/green colorblind glasses. It was dusk and we immediately walked to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. His biggest highlights were red cars on the street (beginning) and (at the end of the video) viewing red/green before/after images that he previously saw as identical.
Without assistance or glasses, Todd can sort red and green M&Ms with ease, he has never confused these colors in my presence. Sees red teams playing green teams, no problem. I just figured maybe his contrast was a little off. I was wrong. A colorblind test showed he almost certainly doesn't perceive red as most people do.
We've fooled around with these a little more. He is most amazed by red -- stop signs, do not enter signs are now a bright, "glowing" red. I think his greens may be pretty good, actually. But his green was certainly overpowering his red big time.
