This is such an incredible yet beautiful epiphany. It tears my eyes to see where we have come from up until now. I would go to any lengths to bring the music back to this. The Fifth Dimension was a clean-cut American singing group, a rarity in today's world. Groups like The Carpenters, The Beach Boys, and The Fifth Dimension were the best ever. It takes an effort from everybody to try and help clean up the music. Thanks for posting this incredible video.
Marilyn was doing her weekly Solid Gold tv show gig during this time period ('82) so schedule conflicts very likely kept her from singing and touring with the group.
And Billy was recording solo albums as well. Plus,he and Marilyn were sometimes singing and performing together as well. But they reunite with Florence,Lamonte, and Ron over the years.
Florence actually has a beautiful voice, it was nice to have her singing lead in some song. I like how rich and dark her voice is. She is a Dramatic Mezzo-Soprano in terms of her vocal fach.
mario rolando perez aparicio I love it when someone else in the group can sing but you really don’t know because the lead singer gets all the credit. She has a wonderful voice!!
Seeing the original group was actually one of if not the first concert I ever attended, and it was because my mom took me which is where I got my love of concerts from that I still maintain 50+ years later. Opening with a Barry Manilow song…
Kept trying to remember the lyrics to "The Declaration" all night long. After researching for an hour or so, I found the Fifth Dimension's version put to music. Wish the country would listen to it and take it to heed.
Florance was right when she said during an interview that although the different stand in members are talented, *_it's Not the same_* without the other 2 Original members _(Marilyn & Billy)._ At least the 3 Original members are holding it down and kept the dynamics of the Group pretty much the same.
@@jamescalifornia2964 Not always. They had a good ensemble sound, many times people think Marilyn is singing by herself, when it's Florence and Marilyn singing in unison, their blend is that good.
Times change and they had to probably come up with a set of songs. Florence did great singing One Less Bell. The other lady mic sounded low. Everyone sounded good. Glad to hear the others sing.
I saw them im Cleveland as a kid and we were in the front seats! They had just been on Ed Sullivan show and we were so excited to see the 5th Dimensions! It was my first concert! I think I saw either Joe Cocker as my first teenage concert or the James Gang but we were getting ripped for those concerts :D
Not the original group and no one compares with Marilyn McCoo but genuine enough with 3 original members and very entertaining and a great way to earn cash in the music industry doing something you love.
I KNOW, Vincent! I feel the exact (?) Same WAY! 😎. I NEEDED THIS! I LOVED them in this show! And FLORENCE got MORE BEAUTIFUL with Time. Still IS! I WOULD LOVE to see the group, tho it's not the same. This tho was WONDERFUL! 👍
I'm feeling that I am in Vegas listening to their rendition of Manilow's hits and sometimes Whitney's. Atlantic city you are the Vegas of the east but it's not that cheesy.
Wonderful performance. What's with all the complaints over a show in 1982 as if that's going to change the past Pretty sure the lineup was due to something internal and be glad it carries on
Everything seems to be so sped up. What’s wrong with keeping the correct tempo and groovy feel of the original recordings - which is perhaps why they were hits in the first place. Geez.
Florence Can Sang! So can the heavy set guy! This is the first time I ever heard him sing lead! I don't feel the unity with the two women like Florence and Marilyn had!
The opening tune, It's a Miracle, is way too fast. Seems really forced, and unnatural. First medley of 5th Dimension tunes is too rushed. What's the big hurry??
Seeing Florence sing "One Less Bell" is kind of funny. She obviously sings it just as well as Marilyn. I wonder what the background story to how Marilyn was picked to sing it instead of Florence. Weird seeing the repalcement for Marilyn in the lineup instead of out front while Florence belts it out.
Once Marilyn's lead on Wedding Bell Blues hit number one, the group sound was gone. Florence was as good a singer, but that is the myopia of the record bizz for ya, especially back in the 80's
When the original line up sang "Aquarius," Marilyn sang descant against the melody. Unfortunately, this is not present in this performance. There is less harmony. A nice performance, but a musical depth is missing.
Of course it ,s never going to be the same without all the original members . Marilyn had one of the most beautiful and unique voices ever. Billy also was a very unique talent, but I must say Florence did an amazing job with one less bell to answer. I didnt know she could sing that song with so much passion. Ronald also had a very beautiful voice. I love what I am hearing . Florence is a beautiful and talented singer and I wish her the very best
And now the only original member in the group is Florence. I heard the original lineup in 1970 and then the new group around 2013. Quite a difference, I must say.
@@bennystein7976 It's kind of hard to call themselves "The Fifth Dimension" with only one original member. But I did appreciate the effort of the later version as well. It's always nice to see the legacy of these classic 60's and 70's groups continue.

This is so joyous to behold. Pure talent on stage right there folks. No shenanigans.
No matter the lineup, this group was and always is a class act! I love The Fifth Dimension.
Love them!
That's because the tone & style was already Set by the Original members. They never changed the Dynamics of the Group.
I just found out they`re playing in Las Vegas in February 2022!!!.....Gonna see them for the first time ever!!!!
I never saw the Fifth Dimension live. DAMN DID I MISS OUT!!!!
They were GREAT!!!!
Love hearing Ron singing lead. Great job on Lady.
They sound great with new members

McCoo and Davis left the group in November 1975.
Absolutely beautiful
I loved the Fifth Dimension . Yes Billy and Marilyn are not in their positions ,still the act still has its flavor. They could still rock the room.
Great Show,The 5th Dimension 1982,loved it.
Me TOO, Bro.! THIS Grouping BANGED!!!! Was nice to see Lamont more active, AND FLORENCE!!!! SHE EMBODIES THE 5th DIMENSION!!!! WOW!
Very good song for Its A Miracle. Up Up and Away is outstanding
Great to see Florence shinning as the great performer she is.
Florence actually has a beautiful voice, it was nice to have her singing lead in some song. I like how rich and dark her voice is. She is a Dramatic Mezzo-Soprano in terms of her vocal fach.
I just love this group!
Hi.great talent and great show. God bless. Love you. Bobby
The best vocal group i ve ever seen
is an emotional band... love it
Wow!!!...This is so spectacular!...great!..just missing Marilyn and Bill...but their replacements did a good job!..love this group!
Florence Larue great singer , an,d what a beauty!!!
mario rolando perez aparicio I love it when someone else in the group can sing but you really don’t know because the lead singer gets all the credit. She has a wonderful voice!!
Wow Florence LaRue and Ron Townson showed how powerful they can sing Ron sounded like an Opra singer in that one song
Wedding Bell Blues is excellent
Love Florence and the piano player sounds great together a d RIP Ron

So needed right now, and The Declaraton is 5D at their very best with Flo up front on vocals and stealing the show/song!
in 1970 it was banned from am radio the lyrics are word for word the preamble to the Declaration of Independence
Simply Love their Voices

They all sang lead.
There was no lead singer.
@@jaysinger535 / ❓I do not recall Lamonte McLemore or Ronald Townson singing lead on any songs ...
Marilyn McCoo is sensational singing One Less Bell to Answer.
Florence did a great job singing it in this concert.
Saw them in Albuquerque, New Mexico - blew my mind ...
Times change and they had to probably come up with a set of songs. Florence did great singing One Less Bell. The other lady mic sounded low. Everyone sounded good. Glad to hear the others sing.
Joyce Pierce and Michael Procter.
They sounds great! I don't know who the lady is who replaced Marilyn but she does a damn fine job here!!!
Love them!
They sound amazing. 👍🏽
WoW! All Vegas_style uptempo Reverie aside, FLO delivers a Powerful statement @ 8:45!! Love U Marilyn, but I ALWAYS had a huge thang for Florence!!

SHE did A REALLY Good job on EVERYTHING! 😉

Good performance, but I miss Marilyn and Billy, what a pity they weren't there with Florence, Lamont and the good Ron.
I love Florences rendition of Never My Love! I like how dramatic she makes it 😁😁😁
Long as Flo was there (Ron and LaMonte as well at that moment), didn't matter who stands in for whom.
Like the new Billy and Marilyn fill - ins or not, they sound better than anything around today, 2000's.
I'm feeling that I am in Vegas listening to their rendition of Manilow's hits and sometimes Whitney's. Atlantic city you are the Vegas of the east but it's not that cheesy.

I love you florence larue
Thank you Florence ; you great ,and beautiful woman

Ha Ha Ha. Florence is no compare with One bell to answer. Marilyn is a one of a kind along with Freda Payne.
Fantastic.....but Marilyn was the icing on the cake.
Amen and I know you're Right!
Everyone forgot to "surrey down" except for the only professional dancer up there in Flo LaRue.
Joyce Wright is a great replacement for Marilyn. Everybody sounds great here
Fine as hell also 👀👌
...And Billy and Marilyn ???
Florence Can Sang! So can the heavy set guy! This is the first time I ever heard him sing lead! I don't feel the unity with the two women like Florence and Marilyn had!
The late GREAT Ron Townson..
The “heavy set guy” is Ron Townson who was one of the original members.
He passed away on August 2nd,2001.

Very nice...Billy & Marylin aren't there, but this is still excellent. Too bad some of the songs turn into cheesy Vegas hyper-performances.

How come Billy Davis Jr wasn't in the 5th Dimension at Caesars
Too fast... too hectic... but good job.
Although that is not Marilyn McCoo.
Everybody has rent to pay.
More like "The Third Dimension" w/o you know who and her husband.
Took the words right outta my mouth 🏳️🌈
WITHOUT MARILYM AND BILLY ITS JUST NOT THE FIFTH DIMENSION
Spot on and I could not watch past about 11 minutes after Florence sang One Less Bell :( way to fast tempo Just not right
The new lady sang too fast and sang in her own style! The original fifth dimension voices complimented each other.
Seeing Florence sing "One Less Bell" is kind of funny. She obviously sings it just as well as Marilyn. I wonder what the background story to how Marilyn was picked to sing it instead of Florence. Florence cant touch marilyn mcoo one less bell. Its not close.
She skipped out some parts and sang it too fast! Marilyn sang it slower like Jazz and blues!
The 5th Dimension without Marilyn and Billy isn't the 5th Dimension. Sorry.
I agree, but Florence and Ron finally get time to shine.
