Hi Rick, so good to hear you. You are an incredible teacher, learned so much from you the last so many years. Thank you for taking time to make these videos so we can learn and pass the knowledge to next generations. Have a fantastic weekend. Regards, Jay
Looks like you might of dodged a bullet on that one Rick. I've only tried replacing those caps inside the cans one time on a Zenith and it was a fail. No desire to do that again. :)
Thanks Doug. Yes I did. I had repaired a AM and FM Zenith Console. I had to repair the two AM I.F. cans, the two FM I.F. cans and the FM discriminator can. A total of five cans, I did not charge near enough.
I think you cought that one just in time, I think one of the electrolytics were breaking down.. you lucked out because changing the IF caps is a pain in the back side

@@AllAmericanFiveRadio good work Rick👍😎i cant believe they thought it a good idea to put the caps inside the cans🤦🏻♂️people don't realise what is involved in that kind of repair, I know from experience what's involved and I can say I wouldn't do it unless it was part of a full restoration on a set I was going to keep and use myself, a really good friend etc👍👍
