Almost two weeks "vacation" not solving NYT hard. This wasn't the easiest comeback. Spotting that 258 triple in C1 was semi-tough and very important. Still I got badly stuck with only bi- or tri-valued cells. At some point the puzzle felt impossible. Oh... those claiming 2s in B4... honestly I think I just stared a non-collapsing puzzle for 20mins.
I struggled. Spent thirty minutes on it, got stuck and couldn't see my way out, so I tallied it as a loss. Those "out of the way" spots tend to derail me and today was no exception.
1:48 "This is 24." Bodings of things to come... It's interesting how, learning the lesson from yesterday, you immediately focused in on C1R4. I only found this component of the triple after a lot of hemming and hawing about "low hanging fruit', which weren't that low hanging at all. Tenacious one today. Missed the claiming 2s in B4 and had to find two more triples and a naked single, creating a lot 24 bivalues in the process.
20:38 to solve. Almost full pencil marks before spotting a critical triple! Struggled pas two puzzles!
