Even though it looks really cold up there it’s got to be nice to see the sun. I guess I’m going to have to get out of the basin and maybe there to try it. Are you still finding them close to the top of the water? Always a pleasure watching you do your magic with those fish.
Nice the weather is looking sketchy so be careful!! We have found them near the bottom on our last 2 trips. I’d recommend 3/16 or 1/4 oz for jig head weight. Highly recommend grey, white, chartreuse for colors. Let me know how you do!💯
@FerntasticSolo it worked a little in the morning, but we only caught small rainbows with the rapala. I did throw one for a few min on Wednesday and didn’t get any action.
Big fish alert is right!! Nice one!! Great video! I just uploaded a video myself and really like watching your videos!! Keep the great content coming!! Great job! 💪🤝🤝
So, is your technique to cast the tube out, let it sink to the bottom, and instead of twitching it in, you reel it a few times to drag it across the bottom?
Totally depends on the situation. If I see fish rising I put on a lighter jig head and try to keep my tube higher in the water column. I do use twitches and jigs to try and entice a bite. If they are not rising I’ll try a heavier head and slower retrieval. If that doesn’t work I’ll bounce the bottom!
@@troutcatchingjedi81The times I’ve been up there this fall, the fish have been suspended. Getting a bait to them has been challenging. I haven’t figured it out yet.
@moisnhcrnr that can be tricky. Play with the weight and retrieval speed until you find what works. Color can also be tricky-white and grey are usually safe bets
@@troutcatchingjedi81 Talk about fish being trained. I caught one. He didn’t put up any fight on the way in. At shore, he just lied there without squirming until I unhooked him, and then he darted off. It’s like he was saying, “OK, you tricked me. Let’s get this over with.”
@@kurtstandifird1451 hey Kurt! I normally like to tip tubes/swimbaits/curly tails with a bit of chub meat. The trout tend to hold on a little longer, but it isn’t absolutely a must to have. Where bait is allowed-something organic such as cut bait, nightcrawlers, etc usually helps!!
@@greg8544 I like the shallow divers. If you can find a shallow diving jointed rainbow trout-I would definitely give that my stamp of approval. I also like natural colors, gold/silver.
I love the strawberry, when I moved from idaho and got sad cuz I had to say goodbye to the sturgeon and moved down to utah, the strawberry was the first place I went fishing and loved it. What size tube were you using?
@@troutcatchingjedi81 Thank you so much! I usually go near the dam, but not close enough. I heard there are a few areas where you can fish stepper banks like this video, but I never see them from the road XD. I am fine in the little honey hole I found.
I have been fishing Haws Point with amazing success the past few weeks but it seems to be diminishing as the temps drop. Your terrain was not as flat as Haws Point or Chicken Fingers. I would surmise you were fishing around the Soldier Creek side somewhere: steeper banks, rocky shores dropping off into deeper water. What was your 10-20?
You assume correctly. I am not a huge fan of haws-I know there are fish there. I really like the steep banks. I look for drops 5-10 feet from shore. The bruisers love to hunt those drop offs!!
Big fish, good vibes! Awesome day at Strawberry Reservoir
Yessir you got that right!!💪🏼
Nice job, guys. Troy is good people.
I fish near there quite a bit. That's a good shoreline.
Yessir Troy is a wealth of fishing knowledge and a fantastic friend!! Can’t beat those steep rocky banks!🔥

Thank you Kevin!! It wasn’t as cold as you would think!! This last trip they were more towards the bottom!
@@troutcatchingjedi81 always good to know and maybe I should check with you before I go up there. So probably no ice forming on the lake yet either?
@kevinthompson5827 I saw someone had put some of the edges in shallow areas were starting, but it will be a few weeks before there is real ice.
Congrats on a Slot Buster 🔥❤️
Thank you!! We caught 2 that day-super awesome trip!🔥
Another slayer day on the Berry for you. Always good to see your bounty.
Thank you Stacy!! We went back for seconds today but the snow had other plans. We did land a few slobs before booking it out of there!🥶
Good job bro.
Thank you!!!💪🏼
It was a privilege to be able to fish with you again. You are truly the trout catching jedi of Strawberry!
Thank you Troy!! Such a good time and great company!! Look forward to more awesome adventures!🔥
Heading there this weekend any tips??

Thank you Cole!! I’m gonna have to check your video out. I appreciate the support!🔥
Great video, you have proven that tube jigs are great in the fall. They work well both cast off the bank and trolled.
Yessir I use em all year long from the shore-great way to get the big ones!🔥

@moisnhcrnr lol every now and then you get the feeling this fish has been hooked before and knows he will be on his way shortly 😂
What a display on how to catch the big boys! Good job!
Thank you!! We happened to find the chunks!! 🔥
Amazing! Way to slay the big ones!
Thanks Kevin-it was a day of giants. Such a good time!🔥
Do you always tip your jig with bait of some kind? Or do you also just use the jig at times?

What side if you do not mind?
@alanshingleton2294 sc side!
What sport do you go soldier Creek or what?
what reel and rod are you using?
Ugly stick gx2 with kastking royal legend reel.
