    With 57 days at sea, Boris is expected to finish on January 27th at approximately 0200LMT. Justine is sailing marvelously with her last 24 hour average speed of 14+ knots. Thank you again for another perfect update. The fleet will finish in record time this year.

    Impressive sailing. I’m a retired rock climber, arborist & sailor. For your climb tomorrow, I found that focusing on your job and what’s right in front of your face seems to help me a lot .

    @Boris:
    My guess for arrival is the 26.01.2025 at 10:08.
    If you also climb the mast naked, I bet you wont worry about the height 🙂

      I was thinking the 27 at about 15:00. The light wind might be an issue followed by some rougher weather. But good luck, happy sailing

    Love these updates thank you. Can I ask though (as a none sailor) why is there sooooooooooo many boats sailed by French sailors and VERY few other countries..????

      The Vendee Globe, starting and finishing in Les Sables d'Olonne is a very French race, but is becoming more international. The French have always been very strong in single-handed offshore sailing, and the French public follow their offshore sailors avidly.

    Mixed fortunes out the south Atlantic, alternate routings. Challenges: sleep, sea state, wind gusts, boat maintenance, circumventing dead wind zones.

    Boris, as always, seems to be more in cruising mode than in racing mode, with hair always combed, unlike the two leaders who are pushing their boat and looking at weather options.
    Withstanding any damage, only the leading three boats have any chance of victory; the rest are just too far back!
    The women's sailors' performances have been disappointing; only Justine Mettraux, in her first Vendee Globe, has been the standout performer!
