They could do something cool and make infantry belt a combo addon that gives you buffs the more consecutive hatchets you hit. But not just slap haste on the addon…
a bhvr staff was probably doing her tome a few months ago and really wanted her to be 115% and 100% when holding a hatchet from the patch and when they couldnt they put it in an addon lol.
I would actually keep the haste change but buff them a bit. I personally love playing huntress as an almost m1 killer so making them 4% and 8% increases respectfully would be quite neat. Or as another person suggested having them buff you based off consecutive hatchet hits, for this I would actually like for them to be +1% haste and +1.5% haste increases each. So that at 7 hatchets hit consecutively you would have a 7% speed increase and a 10.5% speed increase until you reload. May need a nerf or not be able to work together idk
The issue with add-ons like this is that they are just such small number changes that it's unsatisfying and just gets left untouched by anyone. Together, it should be 3% and 7% respectively for 5 seconds each, giving a 10% haste for 5 seconds on hatchet hit. If that sounds too 'broken' then add a requirement of "hatchet hits at X distance", like Deathslinger add-on for the expose. With all that, it then becomes a pair of add-ons that can be used from a distance to close the gap.
Recently got my huntress adept and went through my add-ons, literally paused on these for a solid minute like.... I dont play killer much but I was pretty sure this still gave you extra hatchets after the huntress change. It's nice to know I'm not crazy.
This add on makes the huntress quick down combo better, normally a healthy survivor will get close to try to dodge the hatchet, huntress has less recovery time from hatchet throws than m1s so with this speed boost you can now smack them with the hatchet and immediately follow up with an m1 before they get too far Yes its kinda niche but its what she can do
I don't agree with add-ons not helping with weaknesses and only increasing the strengths. I think some add-ons should try and help cover up some of their weaknesses.
Let me tell you, also while doing my huntress adept I got hit by power struggle and thought maybe she got saved. Next time I was carrying her I was talking to stream how I thought she had powerstruggle and accidentally walked through a pallet immediately and got hit again. Maybe being paranoid is a good thing.
imo, this should be something like, this yellow addon -1 hatchet (base kit 6) and u getting 0,3m/s speed and the second, the purple one should be -2 hatchets (5 base kit) and u gettin 0,6m/s speed, and this could stack so u get 4 hatchets but ure 0,9m/s faster. I think this would be much funnier and pretty balanced
I have a weird idea for the huntress addons, what about decreasing the hatchet size? That might be more of a drawback so it might need to paired with something else like increased hatchet speed while in the air, but I think it could be a really interesting property. The other option is just increase hatchet speed
Decreased hatchet size means access to WAY more shots Huntress hatches have two hitboxes, a collision hitbox and a damage hitbox with the former being a lot smaller than the latter
Instead of a speed boost I'd love it if they had played into the name more, like you get a 2% speed boost near broken gens, or you see crouched survivors 40m away, or you see survivors who are more than 32m from a gen/gate. Instead, we get faster after we get shown the light. Tf does that have to do with shadows or darkness?
The add on seems weak to those who have experienced the "death from above" specialist huntress. 99% of the time it is because of aura reading perks, still some of the most impressive losses I have experienced. The 1% with no aura reading perks even more so. The .000002% with no perks is absolutely psychopathic and I pray the parents never bought them hampsters.

As a huntress main, I will only ever m1 if i literally whiff all 5 (now 7) hatchets. This was a disappointing change for her!
