I didn't know that Borderlands was a retirement club

Cate Blanchett is 54. Gina Gershon (Moxxie) is 62. Jamie Lee Curtis (Tannis) is 65. It's almost like a pity party for older women to play young characters.

There's always bloody politics in making films now. I guess this time it's give the oldies a day out filming, at the expense of any integrity of course.
This is 100% one of those "trailers" that is just a highlight reel of the only watchable parts of the film.
If these are the highlights then this is going to be a really shitty movie

Okay, so the casting may be a bit of a stretch. Respect for having managed to get Blanchett involved, somehow. And the movie looks SILLY enough to be a BORDERLANDS movie. But if the characters don't spend half the movie discarding their weapons and finding new ones, I'm going to have some serious issues with them respecting the game lore.
It's just not BORDERLANDS unless you're finding new weapons every 45 seconds.

Apart from the cast being Botox filled twice the character's age disaster already. The weapons is probably the No.1 draw to the game, if there aren't psychedelic coloured glowing guns everywhere then the producers have never even touched the game.

What? The director is a fan of the games, and this is a borderlands film, if you change the characters and make your own new ones you might aswell call it a post apocalyptic film with a twist? Borderlands isn’t borderlands without the vault hunters in the game. Clearly someone is what the youth call, uneducated.

Every cast member is 20 years too old, apart from Kevin Hart, who is 20 stones too light. Character designs are accurate, at least. Might be bearable, if you don't know the games.

Seems like claptrap is going to have 90% of the cringy dialogue, which helps because he's already that kind of character
just from what I'm seeing here, they added 3 completely hollow and 1 dimensional female characters instead of the very compelling and empowering ones the series itself is actually known for
I'm seeing a lot of what I would refer to as Deadpool humor, which is nowhere near the same thing as borderlands humor
it's at this point I have to wonder if 2k was even at all involved in this or if they just got bought off for their rights, so someone can make some easy money at an audience's expense
That's not deadpool Humor. More like birds of prey forced humor. The whole constant " look at me I said something silly" from all characters. MCU does it too. At least in deadpool 1 he is just a sarcastic a*shole, who doesn't care. A little bit like handsome Jack
@@ZwaolinJacks humor is very psychotic because that's what he is down in his core, we get a lot of it in the tales from the borderlands game he laughs at scooping a guy's eyes out or the sound someone makes when they die because they were thinking about their kid's. Deadpool humor is oh I shit myself or 4th wall humor pointing out colossus stole a line from robocop or directly referring to the audience all good and funny at points, but it's not borderlands, and it doesn't belong in the franchise yes Kreig talks about poop, but that's because he's batshit insane and thinks he's saying something completely different

Honestly everything about this is just.. dumb. Poor choices all around. Even the timeline of this makes no sense. Roland alive? Tina a teenager? Tanis an old lady? Claptrap with a normal monotone voice? C'mon now. This is practically a fanmade parody.

looks fun but that cast.... Lilith, Tannis and Tiny Tina at the very least are about TWICE AS OLD (if not more) than they should be.. Also the voices are more iconic than the faces, them changing literally all of them for actors who can't even bother TRYING to sound like them is just sad.

And the actress who plays Tina was born on 27 August 2007. Considering that filming finished on 22 June 2021, she could actually be 13 when we see her on screen. Unless they completely re-shot every scene with her during the reshoots last year. And even then she is only 1-2 years older than Tina in BL2.

Lilith is completely miscast here. She's at least 10 years too old. It's the same with Tina. She's 12 in the game and 20 here, but Tannis is the worst. She's maybe 30 in the game and Jamie Lee Curtis is something like 70? Apart from that, it doesn't look too bad. But the age of the people is always going to pull me out.

I love borderlands but this just looks like a bootleg from what I played honestly I’m interested mostly by Krieg and that’s about it. If they don’t do his story then this show can burn in box office hell. They did claptrap wrong, ruined Roland choosing Kevin Hart and the Lilith chick looks nice just misplaced in the already poorly chosen cast as they are just popular people not well suited for the roles. Tina just cry’s versus her love for explosions so I know this ain’t her and I don’t see a Handsome Jack anywhere so I’m peeved off
Ok what the heck? Why does the best siren in the series use no powers at all, why is Roland not building things and why is the WORST character (Tina) in the main cast?! This is why I don't get excited about movies anymore.

seems like an interesting watch, allthough i see alot of non lore accurate depictions allready. Will still give it a shot when it realeses since the cast seems like a good choice. But i hope they stay true to the franchise and the lore in the actual movie.
