Your awesome Mang!! I’m sitting here on a Fishing Boat in AK and learning a legendary tune. Thanks for all of the comprehensible material you put out into the mandolin world.
I learned this one from my mandolin teacher in Takoma Park, MD - Tom Espinola. He played it with his group up there, and i learned it from their album!
There's a couple of Accents in the A part that are missing and the B part could swing a little bit. The C part is perfect. Other than that it I like it. I used to live in between the two Berkeley buildings and played in the subways.

Best production values in the mandolin universe.
I really appreciate the backstory/history and discography that you offer for these tunes. Also the brief theory discussion. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you, great video! After years of playing irish music and tenor banjo and bouzouki I decided to give the mandolin a try - I'm really loving it!
Love to hear Norman and Nancy Blake pick this one
Yeah! Those folks rock it!
I really love the Nornan and Nancy Blake version!
I've loved Mike Marshall's Yew Piney Mt. For years and never been able to find the tune transcribed anywhere. Now I know why.
Great lesson.

Not even half way through this video and my head is plumb full of things to think about. Thanks!!
Wow, another beautifully presented tune. Many thanks David. Your efforts are much appreciated.
Nice lesson ,first heard this song by Norman Blake in D minor third fret capo and Nancy Blake on rhythm capo first fret.
That Norman Blake version is he one that caught my ear too. This is a great lesson, great work David, once again.
Thanks mate. You're a legend.
Super rad lesson. I got this tune down. Might have to get the backing tracks from your site.
Brilliant
Super cool
still my favorite version is the Norman and Nancy flat pickin one, no mando I know.
Agreed, it gives me shivers
So good!
You are one "Chatty Cathy" Dave , but I love what you do for us!

Thisi is a wonderful fiddle tune, thanks Davdd ! Does it is a traditional one ?
Change the name and you can collect royalties right?
Is this true? Hilarious 😂
@@thejoshpit Isn't that why "ralph's banjo special" was named that? Old publishing trick, instead of calling it "Daybreak in Dixie"
I can play Bach’s Chiaconne and several of the fugues better than any bluegrass tune. 😂. Guess what instrument I started with. …
