  • Prelude, Boka Vanguard: these are the most impressive ships ever built.
In this video, discover the biggest floating structures ever built by man: the Prelude FLNG and the Boka Vanguard. The Prelude FLNG is a giant floating plant used to extract natural gas from the open sea. The second, even more impressive, is used to transport entire ships and gigantic oil platforms...
A true feat of engineering, these vessels have to overcome real technical challenges to accomplish their mission. In this video, I invite you to discover how they work and how they were built, through captivating images! Enjoy the video 😃

The graphics really helped give a scale to these massive ships. Really cool technology. Didn’t know how well thought out this was, but it makes sense to optimize the process.

Formally being stationed on an aircraft carrier (Abraham Lincoln CVN - 72, AO3, G-3/WEPS, 1997-2001). I am in total awww with the size of this ship. I thought an aircraft carrier was huge until I saw how big super takers actually were up close in person. And now this ship. But don’t be mistaken. It still can be taken out by a huge wave. That ocean ain’t no joke.
Edit: Though that is one hell of an anchor system. Never seen anything like that before.

I wish they would add more to how much it can power. "It can power a city of 7 million people" I don't know if it is lots or not...we don't get all the info.

3:36 Produces 5.3 million tons PER YEAR. According to this video a city of 7million uses about 5.3 million tons of LNG per year. At first I thought it was to power a city of 7 million for a year,,, nope. After listening again it just says “satisfy the needs”.
