Dude, Kreeps you are actually so smart, i never thought of this The fact that non of the Abyssal creatures can enter the mortal realm like this brings a lot of sense into all of this. Abbys sacrifice was so they had someone with the ability to go between the realms and then use that person to manipulate Corvus who is really mentally destroyed from all the defeats to do the summoning ritual for Raum, cause this is the only way a Abyssal Lord can enter the mortal realm. This way they not only get one of their strongest fighters out there, they open the potential for more to come. I really wonder if this couldve been what the devs thought of when making the lore in one way or another Also i need to correct you on one thing: Dredge is the name of the Abyssal Lord, the Kraken. The Dredge we have ingame, his actual name is Judd Roberts but he basically just takes the name of the Abyssal Lord. Its a information thats displayed on the loading screen, altho only on consoles which is weird
oh yeah? cool now it makes sense to have the same name as the abyssal lord, like Seris I guess also Dredge's anchor is how Makoa's hook ability is called, so that's something to do with the abyssal lord as well

One thing i noticed is that if Grover kills Willo her voice line is sometimes "Grover...why" . So i guess there a forest full of these fantastical creatures out there that we havent heard about yet?

@Lee McDonald I mean when it comes to Paladins I really like to make my cool lore ideas of what could happen to make things interesting wether if that's something small or something that effects the entire realm but this is just WOW 👏 Vivian sure is that mastermind with greater secret goal that'll trick anyone she needs to achive them I think the only 3 characters she can't trick are Seris, Raum and Jenos and that's it I like the idea of her wanting to take control over Raum from Corvus who trusted her and she needs someone powerful to do it (idk how would she gain that control tho 🤔 we don't know how Corvus has the ability to control Terminus in the first place so it's just guessing) Only problem that I see here is that as far as I know Bomb King hates humans and because of how egoistic he is he wouldn't even care of what any of them has to even say

@@ohmielevisope4237 maybe the logic is that, since Jenos has returned back to the mortal realm, he can't use the full potential of his celestial power. Otherwise, his basic attack would be him spamming ultimate anywhere and anytime, just like in the video
It's really fun to dive into lore even for a game like paladins where it really doesn't affect gameplay at all. I see that you have put alot of effort into making this video and I really enjoyed it so thank you and good luck on your future videos.
Its fun, If you pay atention they say a lot of lore related stuff, and there are details on maps Ex: terminus screams "No! NOOO!" Or "what have i done" When he kills inara, which should be proof that he's still in there I'd personally like a resistance x magistrate game mode, but yeah, paladins needs to get their shit together before things like this

I’ve been looking forward to a video like this in a while now, I thank you for doing this Kreepers, a lot of people don’t really know the lore as well as some of the older fanbase does, this will really clear things up as some of us may forget some details. The lore for Paladins has the potential to become much bigger than it is now, it’s like an unknown gold mine waiting to be discovered, we just have to see what path the lore takes :)
Just like the gameplay, the lore has a lot of things that just are not very well explained in the game. I don't think many people are aware that Dredge can summon Abyssal Echoes. It's like how players who haven't played the game for a long time probably won't know about comeback mechanic or that the cart heals you

if you examine furias weapon she has a locket with what you can pressume is her and someone else on it, watching this video i assume it is her and seris
i already knew the whole lore cuz im a sucker for lore but u somehow made it even clearer than what i understood especially the seris part and how her body was the key for abyssal lords to be free and how she was the person who made corvis to open the portal for Raum.. now all make sense
Actually, Tyra and Buck (also Viktor and Strix) were part of a group called "Centinels" in the magistrate, Viktor was the captain of this "team". After a failed mission, (also known as "the last mission") Viktor was removed of his place as a commander (also maybe he died and Seris revives him because is important from her plans with the Abyss) and his team splits apart (Strix still been un the magistrate, Tyra left the magistrate as well as Buck but they took different ways and Viktor is now as a normal soilder in the magistrate (btw Vivian replaces him but she has another plans for the entire realm) Sorry for my English if i commit a mistake writting this, i'm actually from LATAM

I doubt they'd actually dive any further into the Old Lore, so it's easy to just say that Willo, Grover, Grohk, Zhin, Maeve, Androxus, Drogoz, Raum, Dredge, Seris, Kinessa and Pip are neutral parties. Seris is a technicality in the fact that she helps those of the Magistrate and weaves the events that bring more and more of the Abyss into the Realm. While she didn't have a hand in Abyss. Lord Dredge's arrival, she's still in cohorts with him and Raum. Though most folks used the End Times event to deduce who was in what side of the War, and the neutrals were always on both sides-
Andro is in the lore. He was a friend of lex. Seris appeared to him in her divine seris skin, told him she was an angel and offered him power. He accepted, but was tricked, of course. He gained abyssal power instead and was corrupted.
Seris is a hell of a champion, for sure, but something is bugging me: Abby's sacrifice was a way this Abyssal Lord found to get in the mortal world. Furia was conceived to avenge her fallen sister and defeat this Abyssal Lord (as she does, eventually). Then, something isn't fully clear. The beast got Abby's body AND possessed it, destroying the city on the process. If so, why isn't there a clash between Furia and Seris? I mean, this evil is still damning her sister's body. Also, why on earth is it a good ideia to put lots of abyssal lords in the lore? Just introduce one alone that sends its darkness minions (seris, dredge and raum) to accomplish whatever.
The clash of furia and seris may still happen. But back on the Destruction of the city of seris, she didn't get possessed... She got turned. And immediately after that, run away. Seris can travel through time and space so its hard to get het as well

Where does Yagorath, or Worm Mamma, fit into this story? Is her motive really to just consume EVERYTHING? What is her origin story? Who are her allies, if she’s allied with anyone at all. So many questions.
Came back to the game a few weeks after maybe a 2 years break and I gotta admit the lore is pretty good hope u do another one of these in the future when theres a lot more of the lore confirmed.
What if the abyss is actually preparing for the real darkness? Just like Corvus, the abyss takes extreme measures to do so but with the exception of it taking everything for its self in the process. It would also justify why Seris has been shown to help both sides
If you are mentioning the part of seris helping on the ascension's peak event, forget it. The only reason they did that is because at the time seris was knowed as neutral since she was doing stuff here and there to achieve her ultimate plan. The idea there was just to justify why seris was on the magistrate's side. They didnt have good healers to be on that event. She is abyss and abyss only. Just like raum.
Similarly to Avengers in Infinity War after civil war, Paladins members had to be hidden from magistrate after being defeated and Im sure that a rabbit Mage that can turn someone into cookie, can change someones voice and make them look differently. And in Khans case, He got new armor in which he sounds little bit differently
Thanks for sharing the lore! It makes so much sense now and it's not the mess it was. (Some things are still unclear, but the story so far is much better than what we had before. I'm hoping in future lore/stories we get to know more about what hasn't been addressed yet.) ❤

I don't even know who I agree with. The magistrate restricting the crystals to military and government use makes sense as thats like allowing the general public 500lb high explosive bombs which seems like a horrible idea. At the same time the resistance is fighting the darkness and the Magistrate seems completely unaware. I feel like whenever the darkness show's up both sides will team up tho lol
Hey, Koga can't go turn into smoke. I'm pretty sure he has shadow-like abilities, which is why Zhin probably took him in. The effects between Koga and Zhin, though looks similar at first, is actually different.
Now that you mentioned that, Ash also have that skin called "Ska'drin" Or something like that, and one of her taunts is talking about protecting the people and things like this. Not to mention her tail and horn which remembers me of Talus. It would be interesting
It kind of does. Some of the voice lines reflect it. Also, the maps of the game are maps in the lore. And there were easter eggs in them, like the shattered desert map showed io before she was playable. After she was released and we knew her part of the lore, her statue and the broken moon on that map made sense. Also, she and Jenos mentioned the darkness... That was foreshadowing of yagorath
Nah, they left because the group disbanded. Viktor, strix, buck, Tyra and kinessa were all part of a spec ops group called the sentinels. They majorly failed their last mission and in the midst of disgrace and pre existing tension between the members, they split. It's never been said what that last mission was
also the point that viktor, strix, tyra and buck were an elite magistrate strike team at one point then all but viktor (the loyal soldier) swapped sides and kinessa was trained by strix. another thing you can speculate from Zhin's bio is that somehow when he was little Lian supplanted him as ruler so he built up the Thousand hands guild so he coult still prove he could rule and have power thats why he can do smolder things, because its a noble lineage thing whereas all lians power comes from crystals.
It's definitely possible that lian overthrew zhin's family. After all, they did try to fight Jenos. As a result, he built his own, which was the thousand hands. For now though, we only know for sure that he has ties to koga, skye, Sha lin, vatu, buck and ying.

@@Slazaryn they all argued about how things were being handled. I think the biggest argument was between Tyra and strix as the lore does day that Tyra worked with him to find out what was going on with the magistrate.
a realm divided i think means the current situation of the realm, meaning resistance vs magistrate. what you described at that section were the Dragon Scourge and First-Second Goblin Encroachment next, according to the wiki the destruction of Seris happened before the siege of Ascension Peak. also love ur theory about the abyss wanting a sort of host to do its bidding. also i think there are multiple abyssal lords, and furia just killed one of them i also dont think abyss and the pyre are hell and heaven, probably similar like that but they sort of act differently.
i kinda want corvus to just give up on the magistrate and join the resistance and sort of just reveal everything to them for lex and androxus, i want to believe that androxus was tricked by a Darkness god but androxus still managed to fight it off and kill the god but it was too late and he's still forever cursed. pretty sure the darkness is also different from the abyss
I wonder if that armoured giant on the background at 5:02 could have been an older design for Khan (he's also seen earlier behind lian), if i recall correctly, this trailer came before khan was announced
I like they're kinda retconing it with "it was just Corvus being an idiot", cuz there isn't supposed to be a right and wrong side with the whole civil war situation.
And sure the MAGISTRATE decides by whom and how the crystals are to be used, what always facilitates corruption, you can count on that. Plus that caps the possibilities of good things that could be done with their force. It's the question of how much to trust the people. How much can we trust a magistrate that distrusts us, THE PEOPLE. The Paladins will deal with everybody who tries to abuse the crystal's power, that's what they are here for.

ill be honest you guys built an awesome story line like you would in DD, but graiphic wise i like the beta look better as lots of orginal players do not saying the new is bad just like that old rpg feel . i know it was to keep up with overwatch , the lore is coming together , maybe ill be able to team up with you guys is honestly one of my intents because i enjoy the game on that high lvl and like to make story lines / lores/master keep as well, hit me up because i have an idea for all players and gamers as well all at the same time

There's not much to her. She was kidnapped by the thousand hands. Sha lin saw her, fell in love, then freed her and left the thousand hands so he could be with her.
11:38 to 12:45 - (imo) The purpose of Seris is to make the "inevitable fate" (what fate ? unknown) happen (because as an Oracle, she's a kind of vessel of the will of the Abyss (Abyss which we could define as an "collective entity/consciousness" - Seris is one of the only entity able to be (time and space) outside the Abyss because she was "summoned" (like Dredge and Raum after her)) - maybe the same "inevitable fate" that Atlas seeks to prevent by returning to the past for saving the world about the Darkness, since Corvus it's one of the reason of the Moon's destrection and the arise of the Darkness (maybe he was manipulate by Seris) - Abby and Seris/Sarah and Furia aren't the same people - Seris (city) get destroy by Seris (person). Actually we don't know "how" Corvus survive to the destruction of Seris (imo - since Seris trick and use Corvus for summoning Raum (fact) - We can suppose she saves him for her own purposes since Corvus naively think that he can control the Abyss like you suggest at 24:15). 15:47 - Skye was born in a royal house (like Lian and Zhin) but choose the criminal path - she made "her name" (as the Twilight Assassin). i already knew the whole lore cuz im a sucker for lore but u somehow made it even clearer than what i understood especially the seris part and how her body was the key for abyssal lords to be free and how she was the person who made corvis to open the portal for Raum.. now all make sense

Actually, Tyra and Buck (also Viktor and Strix) were part of a group called "Centinels" in the magistrate, Viktor was the captain of this "team".
After a failed mission, (also known as "the last mission") Viktor was removed of his place as a commander (also maybe he died and Seris revives him because is important from her plans with the Abyss) and his team splits apart (Strix still been un the magistrate, Tyra left the magistrate as well as Buck but they took different ways and Viktor is now as a normal soilder in the magistrate (btw Vivian replaces him but she has another plans for the entire realm)

I doubt they'd actually dive any further into the Old Lore, so it's easy to just say that Willo, Grover, Grohk, Zhin, Maeve, Androxus, Drogoz, Raum, Dredge, Seris, Kinessa and Pip are neutral parties.
Seris is a technicality in the fact that she helps those of the Magistrate and weaves the events that bring more and more of the Abyss into the Realm. While she didn't have a hand in Abyss. Lord Dredge's arrival, she's still in cohorts with him and Raum.
Though most folks used the End Times event to deduce who was in what side of the War, and the neutrals were always on both sides-
Andro is in the lore. He was a friend of lex. Seris appeared to him in her divine seris skin, told him she was an angel and offered him power. He accepted, but was tricked, of course. He gained abyssal power instead and was corrupted.

Seris is a hell of a champion, for sure, but something is bugging me:
Abby's sacrifice was a way this Abyssal Lord found to get in the mortal world. Furia was conceived to avenge her fallen sister and defeat this Abyssal Lord (as she does, eventually). Then, something isn't fully clear.
The beast got Abby's body AND possessed it, destroying the city on the process. If so, why isn't there a clash between Furia and Seris? I mean, this evil is still damning her sister's body.
Also, why on earth is it a good ideia to put lots of abyssal lords in the lore? Just introduce one alone that sends its darkness minions (seris, dredge and raum) to accomplish whatever.
The clash of furia and seris may still happen. But back on the Destruction of the city of seris, she didn't get possessed... She got turned. And immediately after that, run away.
Seris can travel through time and space so its hard to get het as well

This only because they started to do the lore around since koga's release. The ones before is still unsure if they will have their own events and so on
Where does Yagorath, or Worm Mamma, fit into this story? Is her motive really to just consume EVERYTHING? What is her origin story? Who are her allies, if she’s allied with anyone at all. So many questions.
Came back to the game a few weeks after maybe a 2 years break and I gotta admit the lore is pretty good hope u do another one of these in the future when theres a lot more of the lore confirmed.
What if the abyss is actually preparing for the real darkness? Just like Corvus, the abyss takes extreme measures to do so but with the exception of it taking everything for its self in the process. It would also justify why Seris has been shown to help both sides
If you are mentioning the part of seris helping on the ascension's peak event, forget it. The only reason they did that is because at the time seris was knowed as neutral since she was doing stuff here and there to achieve her ultimate plan. The idea there was just to justify why seris was on the magistrate's side. They didnt have good healers to be on that event. She is abyss and abyss only. Just like raum.

Similarly to Avengers in Infinity War after civil war, Paladins members had to be hidden from magistrate after being defeated and Im sure that a rabbit Mage that can turn someone into cookie, can change someones voice and make them look differently. And in Khans case, He got new armor in which he sounds little bit differently
I confirmed this with a dev. This was not the intention. They CAN sorta use it if they want it. But it is preferable to just ignore it.

I've been playing this game for years and I never knew there was lore.
Most of it is on the website.
I don't even know who I agree with. The magistrate restricting the crystals to military and government use makes sense as thats like allowing the general public 500lb high explosive bombs which seems like a horrible idea.
At the same time the resistance is fighting the darkness and the Magistrate seems completely unaware.
I feel like whenever the darkness show's up both sides will team up tho lol
What if Paladins gets their own animation series as well? That would be fun.
Hey, Koga can't go turn into smoke. I'm pretty sure he has shadow-like abilities, which is why Zhin probably took him in. The effects between Koga and Zhin, though looks similar at first, is actually different.

It kind of does. Some of the voice lines reflect it. Also, the maps of the game are maps in the lore. And there were easter eggs in them, like the shattered desert map showed io before she was playable. After she was released and we knew her part of the lore, her statue and the broken moon on that map made sense. Also, she and Jenos mentioned the darkness... That was foreshadowing of yagorath
I just hope torvald has a huge part in this story. I honestly think he's kinda interesting
strix in the corvus lore was fighting for the resistance ,I don't remember seeing him in other champion's lore maby he changed sides in between.

This is a bit of a theory:
The reason Buck (Maybe Tyra too) left the magistrate is because of what they did to Turminus.
Nah, they left because the group disbanded. Viktor, strix, buck, Tyra and kinessa were all part of a spec ops group called the sentinels. They majorly failed their last mission and in the midst of disgrace and pre existing tension between the members, they split. It's never been said what that last mission was

also the point that viktor, strix, tyra and buck were an elite magistrate strike team at one point then all but viktor (the loyal soldier) swapped sides and kinessa was trained by strix. another thing you can speculate from Zhin's bio is that somehow when he was little Lian supplanted him as ruler so he built up the Thousand hands guild so he coult still prove he could rule and have power thats why he can do smolder things, because its a noble lineage thing whereas all lians power comes from crystals.
No, strix didn't switch sides. He stayed. Technically, kinessa didn't swap, either. She went on her own as a merc.
It's definitely possible that lian overthrew zhin's family. After all, they did try to fight Jenos. As a result, he built his own, which was the thousand hands. For now though, we only know for sure that he has ties to koga, skye, Sha lin, vatu, buck and ying.

@@Slazaryn they all argued about how things were being handled. I think the biggest argument was between Tyra and strix as the lore does day that Tyra worked with him to find out what was going on with the magistrate.

next, according to the wiki the destruction of Seris happened before the siege of Ascension Peak. also love ur theory about the abyss wanting a sort of host to do its bidding. also i think there are multiple abyssal lords, and furia just killed one of them
i also dont think abyss and the pyre are hell and heaven, probably similar like that but they sort of act differently.
i kinda want corvus to just give up on the magistrate and join the resistance and sort of just reveal everything to them
for lex and androxus, i want to believe that androxus was tricked by a Darkness god but androxus still managed to fight it off and kill the god but it was too late and he's still forever cursed.

They aren't really doing a evil thing. They are doing something they deem as good.
I like they're kinda retconing it with "it was just Corvus being an idiot", cuz there isn't supposed to be a right and wrong side with the whole civil war situation.
As you stand up for the magistrate you only can be evil yourself. Better don't cross my ways.
And sure the MAGISTRATE decides by whom and how the crystals are to be used, what always facilitates corruption, you can count on that. Plus that caps the possibilities of good things that could be done with their force. It's the question of how much to trust the people. How much can we trust a magistrate that distrusts us, THE PEOPLE. The Paladins will deal with everybody who tries to abuse the crystal's power, that's what they are here for.

ill be honest you guys built an awesome story line like you would in DD, but graiphic wise i like the beta look better as lots of orginal players do not saying the new is bad just like that old rpg feel . i know it was to keep up with overwatch , the lore is coming together , maybe ill be able to team up with you guys is honestly one of my intents because i enjoy the game on that high lvl and like to make story lines / lores/master keep as well, hit me up because i have an idea for all players and gamers as well all at the same time

There's not much to her. She was kidnapped by the thousand hands. Sha lin saw her, fell in love, then freed her and left the thousand hands so he could be with her.
11:38 to 12:45 - (imo) The purpose of Seris is to make the "inevitable fate" (what fate ? unknown) happen (because as an Oracle, she's a kind of vessel of the will of the Abyss (Abyss which we could define as an "collective entity/consciousness" - Seris is one of the only entity able to be (time and space) outside the Abyss because she was "summoned" (like Dredge and Raum after her)) - maybe the same "inevitable fate" that Atlas seeks to prevent by returning to the past for saving the world about the Darkness, since Corvus it's one of the reason of the Moon's destrection and the arise of the Darkness (maybe he was manipulate by Seris) - Abby and Seris/Sarah and Furia aren't the same people - Seris (city) get destroy by Seris (person).
Actually we don't know "how" Corvus survive to the destruction of Seris (imo - since Seris trick and use Corvus for summoning Raum (fact) - We can suppose she saves him for her own purposes since Corvus naively think that he can control the Abyss like you suggest at 24:15).
15:47 - Skye was born in a royal house (like Lian and Zhin) but choose the criminal path - she made "her name" (as the Twilight Assassin). Skye caught Zhin's attention, first by their respective past (former nobleman) but also her penchant for ruthlessness and murder - in the Thousand Hands Guild she became Zhin's third disciple (the first being Sha-lin (who betrays him and flees with Ying, who had been captured by the guild) and the second Koga who was betrayed) - hence the very "epic" fight between the old disciple coming to take his revenge and the new one (in Koga's Revenge).
Knowing that she "also" attracted the attention of the Magistrate (thanks to her "skills" as an assassin, again), now she serves as one of Grand Magister Karne's closest advisors (this is why she's in Karne's side in "A Realm Divided")
Skye has no specific side, as her bio points out - she sees only opportunities.
18:10 - "Warders Return" is after "Koga's Revenge" -> "Seris Destruction" -> "Ascension Peak siege" (in order) BUT before [Fire and Ice lore] -> "Fight of Shattered Desert" -> "Shattered Godess Return" (in order too). So some aesthetic changes of the champions can be explained at the time level.
19:23 - Judd Roberts died after the dragon attack (the elder dragon had not found him worthy), The Abyss claimed his soul and summoning him into Dredge - Admiral of the Abyss. (as an Admiral, Dredge got the power to summon "Abyssal Echoes" - which are agents for the Abyss. There are three known: Knightmare, Day Walker and Death Speaker (the halloween skins for Fernando - Vivian - Ying) they appeared at the same time as the map "Marauder's Port" because both (map & skins) are linked to the Dredge's lore).
Imani's Dragon is the same as the dragon which kill Judd (the "dragon's soul" is "in" the Warder's relic)
21:26 - Luna is Io, Io is Luna - they are the same entity, Io is the Moon Goddess. This is why Jenos told about the Moon that the world was in danger so Io return.
26:13 - Corvus was exile to the Magistrate after Raum's releasing. - You got "3" sides (Paladins - Magistrate - Corvus/Abyss) now - He still "connected" to the Magistrate (like fighting the Paladins) but he's no longer a Magistrate's tool, he makes his own decision and choose to "control the Abyss".

This is why I think "Vora" (who get tease with the new Thunderbrush's PP) is "Abyss related" imo and she'll be a new "member" of the Corvus team.
