    3:57 By the way if you see the xeno modchip on the gamecube disc drive that's not actually suppose to be there, it only play gamecube imports homebrew and emulators so just ignore it okay?
    I don't like xeno modchip because the laser is dying so I replaced it with GC Loader.

    I'm currious. If the purple plastic where to be faded, can you also retrobright that? I can buy myself a gamecube, but most are faded here in their color. Is retrobrighting only to remove the yellowing?

    • @PoutingTrevor
      @PoutingTrevor Год назад

      Retr0Brighting removes bromine from plastic which causes yellowing. It works best in light or white plastics but in theory should work on coloured plastics too. However, in my own experience of trying to improve the look of an indigo GameCube, it's a lost cause. I'll never buy another indigo GameCube as every example I've ever seen has aged horribly. Go for black or platinum as they're both incredibly common.

    Wow - this was a magnificent video. Great job from start to finish! Mine isn't nearly in this rough of shape, but it could definitely use some love. Out of curiosity, do you do commission console restoration? I'd love to do this, but don't know if it's worth investing in the tools, supplies, and UV set-up as it isn't something I do on a regular basis.

    Este video es más de mantenimiento que de restauración .

    • @VRestoration
      @VRestoration  3 года назад +3

      el mantenimiento es la conservacion de alguna cosa en buen estado, la restauracion es la reparacion y arreglo de desperfectos
      en realidad son cosas bastante similares por lo que se pueden llegar a confundir, por ejemplo en este video ademas de la limpieza a fondo (lo que contaria como mantenimiento) se arreglaron los desperfectos que serian el decoloramiento del plastico delantero y el seguro de la tapa que no funcionaba correctamente. asi que este video si contaria como restauracion y no mantenimiento, aunque debo confesar que si tengo un par de videos que podria contar mas como mantenimiento que restauracion jaja aunque bueno creo que al fin y al cabo se cumple el objetivo que es entretener.

      @@manulem5020 sorprendentemente no amigo, yo en mi ciudad tengo un negocio de videojuegos retro y hay muchas personas de las que juntan de la basura que me venden cosas en mal estado a muy bajos precios asi que a raiz de que inicie este canal les pedi que cosa que encontraran en mal estado ni le pasaran un trapo por encima ya que entre mas sucias y desperfectas llaman mas la atencion. y esa asi me llego y del olor ni te cuento... tenia un olor a aguas negras que de verdad daba muy mal rollo. igual el control de wii ese tambien olia horrible.

      @@VRestoration si estubo en aguas negras ¿por esas aguas sucias no penetraron a la circuiteria ,y sobretodo por qué no hay ningún rastro de óxido ? Irónicamente desarme un Gamecube ,que solo estubo guardado ,y ya presentaba óxido en la bandejas y chapas metálicas .

    • @VRestoration
      @VRestoration  3 года назад

      @@manulem5020 cosas que no hay forma de saber mi amigo, por ejemplo ahora mismo tengo un super nintendo que restaurare para el proximo video y tiene la mitad de abajo amarillenta y la mitad de arriba no, esto desde un punto de vista logico no tiene sentido alguno o lo mismo que tu comentaste, por que una consola que no estuvo expuesta a humedad tiene oxido y seguramente uniformemente.
      cuando ya han pasado tantas consolas por tus manos ya ni te sorprenden ese tipo de cosas, ya me han tocado consolas que por fuera se ven horribles pero luego las abres y por dentro estan impecables y viceversa algunas que se ven hermosas por fuera y por dentro estan hechas una porqueria.
