Nice to meet you. I live in Japan. Last year, I ordered this tent because I liked the beauty of this tent. I was afraid that it would not arrive from a distant United States, but it arrived without any problems. I was very impressed because the optional guylines and stake were included together. Thank you very much. The other day, I tried using this tent at the camp and it was light, strong, functional and very comfortable. This was a very nice tent. I will continue to use this tent carefully. Thank you!

I REALLY wish ll tarptent tents came in a darkish green color! That's the one thing that is keeping me looking at other tents. :(

Can you make a thicker rainfly option? I like thick rain flies because of severe weather in my area especially during summer. For ecample, ZPacks duplex has several thickness with the largest at .74 oz /sqyd. I was wondering if you guys make different versions other than .51 oz /sqyd or can I special order it with the 1 oz /sqyd that you use for your ground tarp. It may not be necessary to go so thick on the rainfly, but this is the only real determination for me between this tent and the ZPacks Duplex tent.
I have this tent and I found it’s too long when packeting it . Can I not to use these four carbon poles? Because I want to put tent in the backpack. Thank you

Hi all, could the exterior layer of this tent be used as a tarp for a hammock? I.e. it would be lifted about 2m off the ground, hanging on a rope that goes through the 2 points where the hiking sticks normally go. Additional guylines would pin all the sides to the ground and keep it tight... the hammock would be poking through the half zipped-open door. (I guess part of the hammock would get wet like that though)

Are you considering giving the Stratospire Li the potential for a freestanding set-up of the inner alone like the Notch Li? Bug n snake protection + staring at the stars = bliss. But the downside to the Notch is that I think I might find it a little cramped inside. I'd love the internal dimensions of this one or the Aeon, but with the option to set up a freestanding inner.
The Aeon Li is a single wall shelter, so there is no option to set up the interior alone; however, it IS possible with the StratoSpire Li. Henry, while we are very happy with our MoTrail for the last 4 long hikes, we are looking for an upgrade, and this one is one of the contenders. What we are wondering is if the StratoSpire Li is capable of setting up with rocks instead of stakes. We have extended the front guylines of the MoTrail to be able to set it up with rocks in the desert. We are not familiar with the PitchLoc corners and thus not sure if this system is capable of using just a few big rocks?
Yes, but we have something new in the works that will be better for that.

Is there any reason this tent couldn't be staked like a BD Beta Light? It looks you would set 4 corners. Insert poles and then stake out sides. This seems more complex than needed, but please respond. Very curious. Looks like the strut end material might be long enough that the my method might distort, maybe.
The Beta Light is essentially an A-frame with slight side tension allowance/cut. The StratoSpire is a hexagonal structure and the best, most reliable way to set it up is the way we show it. The first 4 stakes are critical to form the regular rectangle. After that you can't go wrong.
I have the StratoSpire1 for the last 3 years total bombproof tent. I didn't think the tent could ever be improved on as for me it was a perfect tent but you guys adding Dyneema looks like i have to upgrade .. one question will you be adding this feature to the other models thank you
Happy to hear you like your StratoSpire 1. No plans for a Dyneema SS 1 version for 2019--we have too much other product in the pipeline and the SS Li is already just a scaled up version--but we'll start 2020 product planning in the Fall and feel free to contact us at "info@tarptent.com"

Wonder if they do a green one? That kinda stands out a bit. Im into stealth camping as were not allowed to camp anywhere in england so a camo one would be perfect!!
The color of the StratoSpire Li is "light olive". As the fabric ages, it gets more green.
