There's a theory that Kieran unknowingly has the leader of the loyal three inside him (when he punched the shrine after you beat him for the teal mask, you can see for a second that a purple aura emits from his fist indicating that it entered into him feeding off his negative emotions to restore it's strength while making his personality more "toxic") and will most likely make an appearance in the second half of the dlc.

I hope someone's convinced you to pick up Perrin's plotline a bit more. It's got a really cool surprise and was a boss fight I had trouble with (and I didn't have trouble with the others, even with picking up a new for funsies team)
There's also a way to get some differently colored jinbei if you talk to the guy at the temple (and go to the siblings' house)
Also I'm so glad I'm not the only one who didn't like carmine. I had the same reactions as you to the moments where you're supposed to betray Kieran's trust/friendship and I was like "what do you mean I can't tell him?!?!"
someone on tumblr also noted that Kieran and Volo have a similar sfx during kieran's last scene but I think it's a generic "dun dun dunnn" type of beat that is used for any sort of.... well, dundundunnn moment.
but please do pick up Perrin's plotline, I REALLY wanna see your reaction to the end of it. It's nowhere near as long as the main dlc plot, so you could probably get it edited down to one video!

I just realized after remembering he didn’t show Probopass the first battle:
Even if Mamoswone defeated Dipplin, there would be no way for it to defeat Probopass, it has Sturdy, a Special Attack increasing berry when at low HP, and *Flash Cannon!*
Kieran is going to be Blueberry League champion at the end of Indigo Disk. I feel it’s a little too obvious for it to be anyone else.

To be honest I also had a little bit of a problem with Kieran a few times, but probably stems more from how I prepared for the DLC for the team I used (I trained a team of hatched shinies up to level 45 because I went into it completely blind) lol
i failed on my first battle with him but that was because i had just a lvl 27 shiny applin
I went for a setup move to flex in one battle... and got my first mon 1 shot by Furret. He's easy but can punish you for bming.
But still haven't lost to him. Cliffe's loss streak is impressive.

Jack might I recommend playing Inscryption? Amazing game, 10/10 on Steam, and it involves complicated thinking and deck building. Best thing about it is it has lore and really good gameplay. Hope this helps! 😁
