Nepal-US Relations in a Geopolitical Context

On 22nd July 2022, Centre for Social Inclusion and Federalism (CESIF) hosted a seminar - “Geopolitics and Nepal’s Military Diplomacy” - at Alice Conference, Bakhundole, Lalitpur. About 70 participants attended the event including politicians, bureaucrats, diplomats, former army personnel, journalists and reporters, and scholars of various fields.
In the course of the seminar, two major themes were discussed by two separate panels.
1. Military Diplomacy of Nepal, and
2. Nepal-US Relations in a Geopolitical Context
Discussant panel of the second session included Dr Suresh Chalise, former Ambassador to the US and the UK; Mr. Dinesh Bhattarai, former Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister; Mr. Ajaya Bhadra Khanal, Senior Journalist and Research Advisor at CESIF; and Ms. Mamta Siwakoti, Lawyer and Researcher. The session was moderated by Ms. Prakriti Adhikary, Researcher at CESIF.
