Hi Erin. I’m living in Morocco as well- I’m actually an American convert to Islam.
Thank you for sharing your feelings💕 I guess for me, praying is what gets me through, makes me less helpless. I know that my prayer helps those in Palestine because while I’m powerless in a sense, God is not. I also try to raise all my sadness and worries to Him, because I know I’m in good hands. I still feel sadness, but depression is lifted… there is hope. I see others recommended to you English teaching- that is what I’m doing as well. We definitely have economic concerns, but the teaching helps. I hope you have a beautiful day🌷

Why not offer conversation sessions for wealthy people who want to master the culture, slang and the accent from a native ? in a form of a co-op.
It can be online or directly with the concerned, I think there is a market for this. But needs investment in marketing (you can look for someone to finance it and have his share).

My dear lady, listen, I know it’s hard and sad everywhere… few tips to get ahead with your life:
-Lower the amount of time you watch news/social media
-look for a job: you can teach in schools, afternoon schools, private tutoring,… just the fact that you’re Native American speaker will help you!
-minimize your spendings: no supermarkets, go to souks, just like our parents do ( and still do).
You will find everything, you will enjoy the experience.
-learn more about the culture and religion, everything happens for a reason, our religion teaches us to be patient and optimistic.

Renting a house for more than 10,000 dirhams is difficult and will make your financial situation even more difficult. I advise you to look for a cheaper apartment without home furnishings, and use the rest of the money to buy home furnishings every time. At least in the end, the furnishings will be yours, and in the future, even if you want to change your place of residence, you will not think about ready-made houses.

But you know what? Even the harshest winter carries the promise of spring. You might not see it yet, but somewhere, quietly, the first buds are starting to grow.
You touch so many hearts with your openness, including mine. You may not realize it, but your words are like little lights, helping others find their way in the dark.

I also understand your fear of getting into a relationship that would have unpleasant surprises. So just relax and take it easy, you are a good person and I am sure that a door will open and allow you to meet the soul mate you are looking for, I am convinced of it and you deserve it 🙂

They need every inch of love they can get from you as their mom and protector especially in a new environment they r still trying to figure out.
They are amazing children with so much potential. Please make them your absolute highest priority. You are definitely not lonely with those angels by your side.
you just need to reshuffle your expenses. Your r overpaying rent. Reduce ur rent expense to $600. Plenty of amazing rent options. Work full time remotely or teach English locally and make youtube second income. Get in contact with the American schools in Morocco and see if they are hiring. Once you settle with a job, You will be fine.
Again, please let the kids feel that all of you is for them. They need all your love right now. 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Erin, I wrote to you many times last year advising you to enroll your kids in a private regular Moroccan school. You would have saved thousands and thousands of dollars. They could also go to a French school. I think the cost of your kids school is the root cause of your money issues. I hope you can find ways to make money. Wishing you all the best

Salam Erin, I'm an American who lives in Morocco like you. I've been living here for a year and am a Muslim revert.
I know it's hard here sometimes, and I definitely relate to the loneliness from living here and the despair when turning on the news.
But don't despair and lose hope, Allah (swt) is in control.
As far as your issues, particularly with money, some of them are easily solvable. If I were you I'd move to a cheaper place. I live in Rabat like you, and I don't pay that much money on my apartment, I pay half of that.
L' Ocean neighborhood is a good place to look. But a better place to go, especially if you have a car, is Temara. It's way cheaper and still close enough to Rabat. That alone will save you a lot of money.
Then I would put that money aside, and I would also have either
    3 options.
    1. Get a job teaching basic English. For elementary English, you don't really need a diploma.
    2. Start an online tutoring business for English in Morocco. You already have a decent following, so use that to your advantage in attracting customers.
Or 3. Double down on your content creation. If you keep producting content on a regular basis, you could amass a following of 100,000 subs or more within a year.
Either of these options will do.
Secondly, for your own mental health (I'm guilty of this myself), stop watching the news so much. It doesn't mean you don't care or shouldn't care. But you won't of help much if your own health and well being is compromised. Do what you can, but there are some things that are beyond our control.
Lastly, take time for yourself and make your kids a priority before you consider getting married again. I myself would like to marry too someday (I'm still young though only 26.) But I know from my experience from my encounters with Moroccans is you reallyyy have to do your due diligence on them and not trust anyone on that at first. Be patient amd take your time.
    Sending you peace ✌️
