Thanks so much for this video. Just ordered one of these instead of the non waterproof one for my office as it was cheaper and bigger which I preferred. Btw just a suggestion for when you were screwing in, get yourself an electric screw driver. I bought Bosch one a few years ago for a large piece of furniture thinking I’d never use it again…I use it that much that I don’t put it in my shed with my other tools. Would have got them ceiling screws in within seconds!
Would have been quicker to just use the wago connectors to connect the light to the line and neutral instead of bothering with the supplied screw in terminals
Stupid question probably but are these specifically designed for bathrooms for a reason? I mean, can they be installed in a bedroom and if no, which Philips Hue ceiling lights are ideal for bedrooms, the "Fair"?
@@kiphakes Ah fair enough, makes sense, thanks for the reply, I've been devouring your videos in the last two days as I intend to "smart" my apartment in the coming months, keep it up :)

Ahhh awesome! I've got an electric screwdriver - I just don't really use it, I tend to like the 'feedback' through a 'manual' one :)
i mean no offence by this but you are the most Kip looking Kip i’ve ever seen, good video, the hue range is interesting but expensive
Thanks.. I think? 😂😂
Great vid cool 😎 light 💡
Thanks for watching David!
@@kiphakes No problem
Excellent 🤍
Thanks for the video! May I ask what mm screws you used? I read that 6 and 8 mm fall through the holes. Thanks!
Have updated the video description with the fixings and screws I used. The 3 x metals washers in with it stop it falling through.
Hi there do you have an extractor fun - can you configure this to work with the hue
I’m working on a video for exactly this
Would have been quicker to just use the wago connectors to connect the light to the line and neutral instead of bothering with the supplied screw in terminals
youre saving like 3 minutes, for something you probably wont do again for 5+ years
Cool. How do you set it up so the extractor fan comes on when needed?
That has its own switch.. so we put it on when needed.. will be looking at a way of making that a bit smarter in future!
Hello ,
Can I control this light with the dimmer ,without having the hue bridge ?
Thank you!!
Alexander
No.. you could use it via Bluetooth, but the dimmers aren’t Bluetooth compatible, they need the bridge
@@kiphakes thank very much for your response !!!
When you turn on natural light scene at night is the yellow white light that appears or a colour light is turn on?
No idea. I’ve not used the natural light scenes
I have the ceiling lamp but however with motion detecting it wont turn on or off
Double check your motion sensor set up?
@@kiphakes i really dont understand it what setting should there be. Plz help help help
@@umm2012 can’t really offer tech support.. I’ve got another specific video on the motion sensors - maybe go look at that
@@kiphakes I've got it working now while I was typing to you. Thanx anyways mate 🙏🏼

These have a certain level of IP rating so are designed to be safe in bathrooms, however they can be used in any room really!

Another good video Kip. I know where to come now when I require a labourer! What you like with a wall chaser ;o)
Haha.. I think I had a quick play with Nick's Metabo when I filmed some vlogs with him.. I think i'll respectfully pass :)
