Sean you're only 50 you have plenty of life ahead of you. I think as humans we are always starting again. Hope you will be happy in Wales, the air quality will be great for your walks.
I am following your journey and completely get it, its all about quality of life. Next week i am moving in with my son, daughter in law anf grandson, we decided to give up our expensive small houses to move into a larger family home in a lovely village. We will all save money, i wont be lonely and can help with child care and they will experience a proper community. Go for it 😊

I know it can't be nice to have everyone speculating about your life choices. but in my view you seem the happiest you have been for a while with this decision. I think you should try and make it happen as soon as you reasonably can. I know it isn't easy with all the stresses of moving, but don't be scared take the plunge. Hope it all works out.

When you said you asked yourself “ if this is where I want to end my days” it resonated with me. I have known for some time I need to move, I’ll be leaving my sixties this year. There is not much time left in the hour glass. Better happy and relaxed than busy and stressed I say.
I think you have to find your safe place. I am now in my happy place and will live here forever, nice home, nice life xxx
Your future sounds like fun--I find these big decisions are less stressful if I think in terms of "five years" rather than "the rest of my life." I moved (alone) to a different country at the age of 70, so you have plenty of time left to try something new!
One of your last sentences is what matters. You’re 99% sure it’s right for you and that’s all that matters. No one else can live your life for you. Wishing you all the best in settling back in Wales and making new friends and a better life.

My husband and I are in Qc, but he is from Cape Breton, I understand the pull to the simpler life of that area !
The biggest regrets are not trying, not making changes. Glad you have the courage and energy to take this leap! Sure it will work well and you will adapt. A cuppa at George’s isn’t enough to hold you in London! Best of luck. Enjoy your new life!
I am so happy you decided to come home, after the war we moved to Wiltshire so that my father could get out of the pits, but we never settled there.
I remember my mother saying to me one day, if our next door neighbour died, we would not know until the hearse drew up outside the door, that’s no way to live, so here we are, back where we belong. Love extra extra Sean😊
We moved from Essex to a quiet little town in Bedfordshire. We did this to be nearer family but it was a good decision, people are so much friendlier here. We volunteer and are part of the community, can’t imagine living elsewhere now. You have the right attitude and will soon settle down
I'm a Canadian living in Canada and have favourite friends from and in the south of Wales. I enjoy the photos they add to their facebook profile. It is so beautiful! The latest is the reopening of one of the canals in Cardiff. It must have been exciting. I'm sure I will enjoy your RUclips channel even more than I do now.

Agree with you how expensive London is. Go for the move & you'll prob never look back. Plus living alone, you'll get a Council Tax discount.
Too much to say for a simple RUclips comment but seems to me Sean, having followed you for many a long year, your heart has always yearned for this move. So please by all means let your head work on the logistics of it all but you know it's gonna happen, and I wish you all the best.
Good for you! If you want another change, later, make a change again. Nothing is written in stone, for heaven’s sake! I know you decided on Wales, from subsequent videos. To be honest, most of my English friends left London during the pandemic. They are scattered all over the country, now. I’m looking forward to seeing all the meaningful contributions you will make. 💖
Most of my London friends went to Yorkshire and now can’t afford to move back to London.

Found you in my recommendations and now I’ve subscribed 👍🏻 We moved from London to Glastonbury five years ago when I retired. We’ve never looked back, it’s great here and my advice would be LONDON’S A SH*T HOLE …. GET OUT ASAP. You’re absolutely correct in saying everything is cheaper and you can organise how you live to suit your pocket. We keep one room warm with open fires and take hot water bottles to bed. We’ve made friends and all the neighbours know each other. So much better 👍🏻
I have just only recently discovered your channel and saw this on the list...and figured (accurately) that this went back to your decision. I am 69 years old and have had to relocate several times in my life and 22 years ago made the decision to move back to where I grew up. I had left as a Navy wife and been away for almost 30 years, but a situation arose in my life that prompted me to make the same decision you made.
I left a 'life' behind when I left Florida: friends, community activities, a very satisfying job. Even though I was returning to my 'hometown' I did so with the approach that it wouldn't be any different than any of my other relocations, except for the presence of family in the area.
You made the right decision. I've found that the greatest regrets in my life are over the risks I didn't take.

Well thought out plan Sean, and for all the right reasons! By way of serendipity I am in the process of considering downsizing and moving from Suffolk to the Isle of Wight. I’m off there next week for a few days ‘fact finding’ and having a good look round. I’ve spent holidays there but tend to have only gone to the ‘touristy’ spots, this time I’ll be looking around the more suburban areas, shops, doctors etc. and the plan is to look around in the Winter when the days are short, places are closed and it’s wet and cold, so if I still like it at this time of year then it’s the place for me.

American's tend to be a bit opinionated (as are RUclips commentors!) so I wouldn't give it much of a thought. Being military and from a military family we used to move every few years and while that gets old and one feels the need to put down roots, I don't think I have put down roots in the right place (since I got divorced here and now am on my own) so the pull to move has been increasing every year. I understand the feeling you have of being bored where you are and that need to go somewhere else. As you have been talking about going back to Wales, I've been getting the pull and feeling about moving back to Montana... Will be a while before I can do that but the pull is definitely there! Will be interesting to see wherever you go and Wales it is!
Sean my mother is going strong and is 96 in january .she gets out and about and has a dance now and then .im sure you have 30 or 40 years left in you
I moved to pembrokeshire from leicester a year ago. It the best move ever made. The people are lovely and i have been made welcome in the community

Lived in London all my life until 1976, then moved to Chepstow and Forest of Dean. Obviously travelled all around boyh areas. I love the valleys, Swansea and Mumbles. My back garden now opens into the Forest of Dean. Ive just turned 70, have my spaniel and the two of us enjoy the changes in the countryside everyday. YOU know whats best for you, go for it and enjoy the journey as well as the end result. Nana Karen

I lived in Bedfordshire most of my life we decided to downsize and move to Cornwall never looked back. I now have a large garden and grow some veg wife has her flowers. Its so peaceful and small community. I am fortunate have small works pension and do a couple of days work. That does us plus have my little RUclips channel about my life down here. I think you would be much happier living a simpler life back home in Wales. Its about expectations in life. The problem is often people want you to conform and live they way your supposed to. As I have got older I much more cynical and dont belive the main stream alot of the time. Be happy keep smiling !!
The only thing I’d say from experience is the nhs is in a mess in wales and Drakeford is an awful socialist leader. On the plus side the countryside is beautiful and the people are lovely and property cheap.
I returned to the Swansea area five years ago after over thirty years away. No regrets - it’s where I belong. No regrets either for leaving at the tender age of eighteen as my life experience has been rich. I have, after a bit of a wait even got a plot!
I grew up in walthamstow london , I moved to the US , but when I visited the walthamstow area, i realized it has gotten very expensive, still a lovely area, but a bit more expensive. London, in general, has gotten very expensive.

Re Paypal and Canada. During the Freedom Convoy Canadians donated thru Paypal to the truckers to help with fuel (-20c in Feb) and the govt colluded with Paypal and GoFundMe to stop the donations to punish the truckers.
Reckon it’ll be a whole new lease of life for you, Sean. I bet you’ll end up asking yourself why you didn’t do it sooner 😊👍
I lived in Essex for three years I was so home sick for Wales 🏴 I came home. There is a Welsh saying Hiraeth a spiritual longing for home 🏠.
I moved to Wales 4 years ago from London and doing ok financially and beauty spots everywhere

Couldn’t agree more with all you said in this one Sean. I was born almost on the runway of Heathrow airport ( that was the joke) back in the day as our house was so close. I moved to Buckinghamshire to get away from the noise and fast pace. Eventually work to me to Canada for over ten years. Then like you I felt the longing for home… I would say to my friends in Canada that my heart belongs to them but my blood belongs to England. Cheesy I know! 😊 but, Although not London I’m very happy in Lincolnshire. I started watching your channel as you where heading off to Cymru snd look forward to enjoying you new adventures. I have noticed you have had your home land on your mind for a few years , even if subconsciously your home has been calling you back. The universe works on its own timeline to get everything lined up but once the path is cleared it all works out . I too follow the old religion and feel we share in vibration of places, and the people that prevail there. We are at our best when we are truly intune to our enviorment and feel belonging is truly authentic. I believe it was John Muir who said, the mountains are calling and i must go.that is me as well. I am happy to see you are on an exciting new path. So many new creative opportunities lay just ahead. I also really have been enjoying your videos lately. I come home from work at the hospital and turn on your video and decompress by listening to your thoughts, plans and tidbits. Nothing stressful, pushy or trashy just pleasent conversation that a friend would have. your energy is vibrant, lighthearted and fun. I love to see your neighborhood and excursions. Sean I'm from Canada and maybe the "Trucker thing"...she was referring to was the event that happened in our capital Ottawa .....during the pandemic and they the Truckers started protested about the government mandates on covid restrictions....and PayPal did something with private donations to those who tried to support the Truckers and the protest....as for moving on it sound like a good plan....my wife's father's family came from Wales....and the people we bought our farm from came from Wales back before 1900...( my wife says you can't understand then though😅)
I also stopped my paypal due to this. I cannot have paypal deciding my money choices for me.
I thought it was Go Fund Me? Refused to pay out the 10 million can. dollars donated. Giving in to Trudeau govt pressure. Was PayPal involved too?
@@judithcressey1682 It was PayPal that closed accounts for peoples political opinions, a lot of people left them, and they apologised - but I could never go back, too CCP for me.
@@tazzie2shoos My question has been deleted but I see it was GFM that stopped payment of 10 million cd that was donated.

They notified people that their account was closed down due to: ‘PayPal’s policy is not to allow our services to be used for activities that promote hate, violence or racial intolerance.’ I refuse to use them also, as I won't stand for them deciding what is hate/violence and what I do with my own money. Their apology was insufficient, it just showed their true colours.

I’m just curious (as I too lived in london for 2 years from NZ), and found it expensive back then….how much less/more affordable would your rental in wales now be compared to what your rent was in London - is it a substantial difference?

I only discovered your RUclips channel through Richard vobes and went straight to the Welsh films. I think moving back to wales is the best. I think it’s more of a spiritual place, London is not somewhere I’d want to live, I live in Essex so it’s commuter belt but don’t even want to go there

Fasting is a perfect way to loose weight. The myth about 3 meals a day started by food manufacturers. Out bodies where never designed for that. I would guess you diet is sugar and carb based. Key is no sugar low carb high protein. Plus walking as you are doing. I wish you well in Wales beautiful part of the world. Good luck my friend.

Always follow what is best for you. As far as weight, I think your size is fine and you are very handsome. But yes, starting routines to make you feel better are good and the move did work out best for you! I wish I weren’t in USA, I’d be a walking partner with you!!❤

I was 57 when I moved to Tonypandy. Didn't know a soul, stayed for 6 years then moved back to Hereford as my daughter and her husband moved back and were going to start a family. Unfortunately, doesnt look like grandchildren are going to happen.
I needed to 'heal' after the death of my husband, so, I went to the Rhondda, and now back home. Yes I met a little bit of anti English, but, I did have great neighbours!!

Hi Sean, great video your looking and feeling very positive and I’ve watched your journey for sometime now. I think you’re doing the right thing as it seams the right time in your life to make a move for the better financial and for well being. It will be great seeing you getting acquainted with your new but familiar surroundings in wales. Moving is a big deal I did it at 63 and moved all the way up north to Cumbria and I love it. People are so nice and helpful you definitely see the difference between them and people in the south , Oxfordshire where I was living where no one really bother and I had very little in the way of friends. Now I have loads of good friends and neighbours that have been very helpful. This is a positive thing for you and you will do great and you will do well 👍😃

Hi Sean , I apreciate your views on house move/relocation . The old saying is relevant today as it was yesterday and is relevant for the future . " Live within your means ". I am 73 and getting on for 74 . I am quite sure you will succeed as new opportunities arise . Your comment about life revolving around the allotment can be " monotonous" as I am finding myself as there is more to life and can be more stimulating with a new location etc etc . Good luck and look foward to your new " challenges "
You're approaching 50 and you figure you have 15 years left? I am almost 65 and just retired about 6 months ago. I now go to the gym 6 days a week in addition to daily walking the dog. Don't write yourself off so soon. Change your diet, up your exercise routine and it will change your outlook on life.

Go for it and enjoy. Why stay in London when you can be in Wales! I wouldn’t even consider London. Much rather be in the country and Wales is beautiful but not quite as good as where I live in Gods country 😂
That view on storing fat is not true because its the intake of more food than you are using ..as energy ...any excess turns to fat .so if you are active you need more than if you are a couch potato you don't..simple..carbs turn into sugar
I once read that the way to choose your habitation is to ask Where do I want to live? and then Where do I want to die? If the two along, great. If not, it may be better to choose where you want to die.

There was a man knocked to the pavement in our town. He later died of his injuries. Someone was arrested. These things happen. Could happen anywhere. Right? What they did not tell you was why two other people were also arrested that night for theft. Can you guess? Guess the almost unthinkable? I hope you find the peace you deserve away from London.

I know what your saying about community i lived in an area of Belfast everyone new me and my family when i married and only moved a couple of miles outside Belfast i became the invisible man if i walked into a bar everyone was having fun chatting away but i stood alone its a funny feeling yes as you say i made new friends but they weren't the same type of friends i had in Belfast i think community's have to see you playing as a child and growing to maturity for you to become part of their community or as you say your always an outsider
