Think I saw that on the aerial truck, it had those Breathing air canisters on each side of it, know that those must be for the firefighters who work in the bucket, but I am still trying to figure out how those Breathing air canisters actually work for the firefighters who work in the bucket, I thought for a second, that there are hoses that extend from those tanks and go all the way to the bucket and the firefighters just hook up the hoses somehow to their Oxygen Masks just so they wouldnt have to worry about having to wear one of those oxygen tanks on their backs like all of the other firefighters do, am I somehow close here with this and if not, what are those Breathing Air canisters that are on each side of the bottom portion of the aerial trucks Ladder and how are they used??????? Thanks

Andrew, you are correct. Those cylinders hold compressed breathing air. There are high pressure lines that go from the cylinders up to the bucket. The firefighters can then connect into the air system to breathe air without having to wear a SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus)
