Watched all of it so far. I guess I just don't get why she loves Maxim. He is just so mean to her. I don't see even an inkling of a reason why she would even consider to marry him. He just seems like a jerk. Is he described differently in the book or something?
Haven’t read the book either, but it seems to me that she fell in love so easily with him because he offered her a way out of a life she might hate. And I think Maxim was quite charming to her before they married. He practically swept her off her feet, and she being naive and inexperienced in life at that age, fell for him. He only showed his mean streaks after she had come to Manderley, right?
@@slytherinpride9394 he was always rathter off hand with her but she was a young girl. he was her first love and they had a happy honeymoon. Back In Manderley, he seemed busy with his own life and she felt out of place.. and began to worry that the shadow of Rebecca was hanging over her...
They're dancing to "Love Unspoken" from the Merry Widow! Brett played in that. :)
