    Johnson is just a treasure for the Lions. His intelligence and creativity is a revelation for Lions fans. Yes, he has some great talent on the offence (although a lot of folks will continue to say that Goff is a mediocre QB) but he uses everybody and puts people in positions to be successful. Which is basically the job description of any coach.

    Detroit has brought in acclaimed offensive minds before -- Mouse Davis, Mike Martz, Steve Mariucci. Ben Johnson is far less dogmatic. Everything is about leveraging the threat of what his players do well, rather than a pet philosophy or playbook. And he is incredibly nimble at counter-attacking in-game. Not a field general, but a card sharp.

    Another great video. I’m not sorry to say that this is probably the last year Ben Johnson will be a Lion after we win the Super Bowl.

    We are so lucky to be able to have a brilliant offensive mind like Ben Johnson.

    What's really interesting is that Dan Campbell said they would open up the playbook. No reporter questioned him. Ben Johnson said a while back that he was only using half his playbook because of the complexity. Last season Ben Johnson said that they were using the same plays basically because he was overworking himself.

      @@eduardooneal What Johnson said is if they execute properly it couldn't be stopped. To your point, it may be the reason for the 3rd quarter problems.

    I really love how dan campbell and ben johnson run the offense. We run any play out of any set and will go to anyone at anytime. Plus we use all 4 downs. None of that is possible tho without a good team atmosphere

    I remember seeing this same concept two years ago in the buffalo game where it end with Sewell catch a pass from doing the same play catching the bills offguard

    Those 3rd quarter laspes were greatly improved as the season went on. But how many NFL defenses are gonna let u score 60 on them 🤔 most of our games were leading at the half. The get paid on tht side of the ball too..the 4th quarter is were they excell.

    Great pick-up Coach. First play of the game setting up a critical 9th possession play shows some real skill. I have no idea who MCDC is going to replace B. Johnson with when he finally leaves but that's going to be a helluva tough act to follow.

    I really like this type of vid. It would be interesting to see if your theory of 3rd quarter ‘issues’ are more of a 4th quarter setup.

    • @all_22_films
      @all_22_films  3 месяца назад +1

      I definitely need to take a look at that from a points per quarter and points per possession angle.

      @@all_22_films No problem! Though this one may be bittersweet, so to speak, as you may find some secret sauce that other teams can exploit LOL. Still bummed that we don't play the Ravens this year. Well maybe, just maybe they meet in the Super Bowl. That would probably mess with you though. LOL

    Have you looked into the lack of production by the Lions offense in the 3rd and into the beginning of the 4th quarters in every game last year??? I you haven't please, please do! Thanks again for all your great insight!
